A) To attract more revenue for their club
B) If it was as easy as just moving a peice if tarporling, like it is as SOTON, then yes, and of course if we were confident those extra seats would not be needed by home fans.

When Southampton played Bournemouth they gave them more tickets in the Cup than for the league game
Cup crowd 17,135 away support 4,068
League game crowd 26,289 away support 3,268
So I guess we will not get any additional tickets. If it was the cup it would be different and they would have to give us 15% of the capacity

But as it happens, it looks like it could be nearly full in the home end anyhow. Their website quoting 20k already sold - and there are nearly 2 weeks to go!

Strange isn't it. Its classified as a local derby and it seems that special rules apply.
After reading on here that it was sold out (when in fact it wasn't - thanks guys!
), I called the Saints box office and this was their story.

Just got three tickets. I you still want to go there are under 200 left but I think they'll be sold out by noon tomorrow.

Park and ride is the way for two. No beer so even cheaper.
If you go along with the crowd it doesn't stop till Worthing. be careful.

Change at worthing for all stations to brighton i think
10 minute change time or your stuck.
