you talk of Passion and Commitment and you just proved you have neither by saying it's ok to leave 15 minutes before the end - no matter how far you've travelled!

Better fan than you? Not for me to say, unsure what makes one fan better than another!

And if your gonna get so worked up about comments on here and start throwing abuse around I suggest you take up snooker or darts or something!

You're not still banging on about this are you, we've played another game since then.

What you got leaving early was 10 extra minutes in some Blackpool shithole of a pub.

What we got was an Albion goal, the pleasure of seeing the Blackpool fans silenced, a bit of pisstaking with the linesmen and stewards, and most of the team saluting those of us who came the 300+ miles.

We got the better deal mate.

We also didn't demoralise the team we travelled so far to see - don't think they didn't see you lot leave in droves. Mass walkouts belong in the Archer/Bellotti days - this bunch of players that are busting a gut to give you Division 1 football on a shoestring budget DO NOT DESERVE IT.

- Virgo looks to be carrying a bit of Mayo-style lard

- Harding looks like a panicked sheep whenever he's got the ball

Though i know we're playing in the 2nd division, these two lads are still only 20/21? Got to give them a break. They actually did ok today, nothing special, but not poor performances. Harding and Virgo ran with the ball charging up the wings and for sure their final ball wasn't the best, but it was very encouraging especially since Hart didn't give Virgo that much support on the right wing. I think this the longest run both have had in the first team? When Rushden did have a rare attack or used a long throw in they didn't get past either of them as far as i recall, so as defenders they did their job.

We didn't play especially well today and should've beaten Rushden, but its a far cry from the performance against Stockport a few months back. I think we all agree are midfield is very weak, but its what we've got until the summer comes round so lets get in there and support them especially with only 4 games left and hopefully 3 playoff matches. I was as frustrated as anyone today, but we didn't lose and the teams around us didn't perform brilliantly either.

The one thing that did annoy me was that McGhee didn't make the changes earlier. It was quite clear that everything went stale after 60 minutes and we lacked ideas, if Reid, Piercy and McPhee had 25 mins instead of 10 who knows what might've happened.

Thought we were very disappointing today.

Got sick of us trying to play hoof it up the middle Route 1 football. Especially when Big Chris gave up going for balls in the second half and became a spectator. He suddenly realised he was supposed to be playing in the last 5 mins and made a couple of attempts, but by this time it was too late.

Leon didn't get the service, but still could have battled more rather than wait for it.

Personally, I think we missed Mayo today, and that with him we would have seen more play down the wing.

And don't start me on Magoo! Subs came way too late, and if that's the way he wants us to play, we're buggered.

Coffee wasn't too bad though and the stewards were extremely polite.

Surely it's staying for the full 90 minutes isn't it?

We must meet at Bristol so you can tie me to my seat just in case I want to go early again. Then I might be as good as you lot.

Or am I not allowed to go there seeing as I walked out at Blackpool.

Pretty piss poor game to be honest.
After singing the praises of Virgo last week he now seems to have gone to shit. He made a couple of runs down the wing but didn't look up and so didn't see Leon in space, and his passing was shocking.
Other than the distribution from defence the other moan would be the midfield. On a number of occasions defenders headed the ball out the area from a cross and there were no Brighton shirts within a mile of the second ball.
It may also help if they practiced free kicks during training, unless of course floating it into the hands of their keeper is a new tactic.
Jones had a good game I thought. Actually went at the defense and got some crosses in.
The substitutions were too late to have enough effect.
Oh well, bring on Barry Fry!

In the great pantheon of Albion performances, one has to take the rough with the smooth. Yesterday was VERY rough. However, as I said to my daughter after the game, you have to suffer games like Rushden to really appreciate the highs. I think we've had too many highs recently (honest!!), which made yesterday's INEPT performance so difficult to take.

At the least the next four games are going to be interesting!

I was hoping someone else was going to say this.

Couldn't agree more. Mayo links up much better going forward than Harding and 2 out of the 3 balls he played in always seem to be good.

I lost count of the times Harding had the ball with a chance to cross and seemed to wait for the Rushden player to close him down and get a block in.

He's faster at closing down players than Mayo but when we're pressing for a goal like yesterday I think we'd be better with the Ginger prince.

Now i'm not one of the moaners on this board but I find it hard to muster much enthusiasm for saturdays match because I get the feeling that Peterborough will play in EXACTLY the same way as Rushden. If I were Barry Fry (thank God i'm not, yet) then i'd have seen the way to get a point from an away game at Withdean today.
Play 5 across the back. 2 defenders to watch Knight, 1 to man-mark him throughout the game and the other 1 to cover. Your tallest defender marks Iwelumo and challenges him for knock-downs. The 2 wing-backs to push Jones and Hart out towards the side-lines.
4 men in midfield. The right side winger operates as a secondary forward to provide a link to the lone forward. Left winger hangs back in order to make runs from deep. 2 central midfielders pressure Carpenter and Oatway since they don't seem to like being put under pressure. 1 striker to play up front on his own and hold the ball up for the midfield.

good points, well made.

R&D were very similar to Wycombe on boxing day, but this time we did not get the goal or their man sent off.

Defencively we were sound but lacked ideas once we got into their third of the pitch, Jones was excellent ! and for next Saturday would like to see Piercy play in place of Hart, and depending on the state of the game see Reid get at least half an hour.
