Official Rushden Thread:

I don't that's right jmc. We had about a dozen half little chances and 2-3 very good ones. Big Chris didn't seem to be doing a lot wrong when he scored.

We've got wins recently when we probably only deserved draws. Today that was reversed, we dominated them but were unlucky only to get a draw.

We've all seen plenty of games like this - you just can't get the odd break that can open up a game.

The positives are that those that saw the Blackpool nightmare can judge what a difference Danny Cullip makes - he directs the team like a traffic cop and everything revolves around him. Rushden had a couple of clever players up front, particularly the No 9, and they had to be dealt with even though Rushden were not committing men forward.

OGH and Jonah played quite brightly, Chippy looks a bit off his game at the moment. Leon had those odd clever flashes of skill and Big Chris won his headers without again looking very convincing on the deck.

I wish Adam Virgo would stop pretending to be David Beckham with his 50-yard passes, but his upfield runs are a strength of the team, if only he could be a bit more precise with the end ball.

At least B'muff, Vale and Luton are falling away.

All the teams in the top 9 are wobbling and it is too much to expect us to keep winning everything is sight.

The three players came on looked bright enough without really looking as though they are the answer to our problems going forward.

For me, the decision by Micky Adams to retain Trevor Benjamin has been a big blow to our Division 1 hopes. But we will crawl over the play-off qualifying line and, then, who knows in those games.

I was travelling back home and managed to hear the first half on the radio and we seemed to be having a fair crack at it. Couldn't manage to pick up the second half. Couldn't believe it when the goal was disallowed. Presumably it was one of those games that no matter what we did, we just couldn't score. I am just gllad we are still 5th.

10 points from 4 games will guarantee us a play off spot then.

A very frustrating afternoon, shame the goal was ruled out, that really would have changed the game.

Why does McGhee just not tell Virgo to knock it easy rather than trying to miserably fail at rying to look like Glen Hoddle, needless giving the ball away

Credit to Jonah thought he had a good game.

We clearly are not a good footballing side at the moment but lets hope we can make the play offs and then anything can happen from there

If someone had said to me at the beginning of the season

" with four games left you'll be in with a good shout of the play offs but you've just been stuffed at Blackpool and been held by Rushden"

I would have been quite happy....

Hate to put a dampener on the above but DC's passing and distribution today was bloody awful. As was Guy (hoof it anywhere) Butters'.

For me the positives of the day was Jonah's performance and we didn't lose. Other than that not an awful lot of good from today's effort.

2 v.poor performances in a row (today was better than the absolute abysmal shite served up in Blackpool).

My real concern now is that to be guaranteed a play off place we need to pick up at least a win or a couple of draws away from home. With our current away performances I worry that we may have to rely on others slippng up.

We can do it, but a lot of question marks remain over the teams motivation/self belief.

Remember, if we go up via the play offs we have to play away twice (inc Cardiff). We need to beat Bristol City at there place to get the momentum going again.

Very disappointing, but the Hartelpool result aside things went our way again with our playoff rivals.

what was the goal disallowed for, it looked perfectly fine to me, considering what the ref let go during the game not letting big chris goal stand seemed a bit harsh.

We really lacked creativity today and gave the ball away far too cheaply, against a side wo were not interested in playing us at all.

Still its all about getting in those darned playoffs and I think we should just make it.
