Congratulations, continuing nsc dominance in Puglia. Have we set some kind of NSC record by both winning at the same foreign park run?

Great stuff. Massive morale boost; well done.

Another day at the office for me:21:57 with a 75.70% AG (9th best out a field of 390). Pleased with this as I've been carrying a sore Achilles and not got out much this week. Would like to start preparing for the Big Push for the end of the year...…..but need to mind the body. (If I could just find 30 seconds from somewhere.)

Excellent run skip. Conxgratualtions on the victory, seems like a great NSC tradition.

I passed on parkrun this morning even though I had a morning run "pass" from her indoors in order to watch England thrash Australia at egg chasing. Went out a bit later and did some 5k pace intervals instead. The 6 mile (or so) runs are feeling fantastic at the moment. it's just the 26 mile ones I have to worry about now.

That's what I want to know as well. I can see how [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] did on strava but not [MENTION=13055]Ninja Elephant[/MENTION] - did the latter even make it out of bed?

I had a gentle 7 mile taper run with my mate along much of the course an hour before it set out and we ran past the start / finish about ten to nine. We looked for NSCs champions but neither was around. I am assuming one was in the loo and the other was despartely trying to make the kick off on time

I'm sorry [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] to scoop him here - but as I'm first on to the thread... 37:33 chip time for me (31st), 38:29 chip time for the Big Lad (43rd). Both damn fine performances to be fair, although the tall fella may be disappointed not to get closer to sub 38. I honestly didn't expect there to be so much time between us either way, but I did intend to run the first mile at a quicker pace to the rest of the race and give myself an advantage. I ran the first in 5:53, second in 5:59 and then I took a bit of a slower 6:07 and 6:12 in miles 3 and 4, but then back up to full pace at 6:02, 5:58 and then 5:30 in the final fifth of a mile to hold off a chap I work with who had cruised past in mile 4. He was the last person to pass me, and I nabbed a couple in the final 2 miles.

I'm really pleased with the performance, yesterdays 18:13 at Littlehampton Promenade was tougher than I intended to run - so running 18:47 twice back to back today (within a second or two difference) is very pleasing to say the last! Only my second ever sub-40 10k, and 5 minutes quicker than the Phoenix 10k.

Sky will be disappointed with the PPV billing as it was a bit of a no contest. Fair play to Ninja who in keeping with his 5k form smashed me by the best part of a minute.

I saw him start quick but I was determined to stick to my game plan. I ran reasonably well and clocked my second quickest ever 10k but a 2 mile lull at miles 3 & 4 cost me any chance of a pb.

Very even splits, in fact I think they were bang on 19:14 pace. Similar first half to Littlehampton which is my pb but no sub 19 second half like that effort.

Good race though and I’m starting to pace and enjoy these 10k’s a lot better now.

I often wonder if events would be more fun if they're not being raced. It's not going to change my mentality going into THE showdown over 10k on sunday, but I do wonder if the bigger events wouldn't be more enjoyed running at a comfortable pace and really taking in the surroundings. Much like not racing every parkrun is quite pleasant to remind yourself about enjoying the act of running itself.

Littlehampton parkrun for me tomorrow, I'm going to run below my intended 10k pace for Sunday and aim for sub-19, but not by much. Or I might just sit in with whoever is leading, depending on their pace, and make a decision whether I want a shot at the glory. Based on the last few weeks, I could compete, but Sunday is what matters!

That's literally every trail marathon I've ever done [emoji23][emoji23] All about the food and the chat around there course.

Finally managed to compete in a race I've entered following a couple of shocking weeks both personally and running wise.

Not up to the Ninja and Nuts standard but I SMASHED my current 10k PB coming in at 47:14 chip time in 112th position. Absolutely delighted and my last two KM's we easily the quickest so there was probably more in the tank. Was just so desperate to go sub 50 that I didn't want to risk pushing it too early and have a jelly legs situation with 1 km to go. One thing I would say, whoever decided to plot the last 150m on deep gravel is an absolute bellend! At least all of the HM wasn't in vain and I can now focus on my 5k pace over the winter.

Why my gender is unknown I don't know but at least I came 5th in my gender category!

Fantastic running by the gaffer and all of the 10k boys. I saw [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] before kick-off and he knew it was gonna be tough to beat the Ninja.

Me? When I passed through three start/finish area I was on the homeward leg of what turned out to be 13.8 miles of relatively evenly split miles. The young guns can stick to the short, fast stuff; I'm more than happy to be a plodder [emoji23][emoji23]

I was thinking today how much my racing calendar has missed Bright 10 but that 10 mile time is one of only 2 distances I hold the edge. The HM time is definitely going next year, that’s the one pb which I think I can beat reasonably easy.

Another fine weekend of running for NSC with a combination of first places & PB’s.

Next race for me is the Brighton 10k which I usually run well after using Arena as a range finder. This year may be different I’m on a big lads drinking holiday in Cape Town for 5 days just beforehand. Red meat and red wine will be oozing out of my pores.

Congratulations [MENTION=12929]sjamesb3466[/MENTION] - a PB is a PB and if we'd had this table 4 years ago, I'd have been nowhere! A lot of work has gone into the current race consistency, reaping the benefits of the work behind the scenes.

[MENTION=24635]Greg Bobkin[/MENTION] - those splits are sensational over that distance. I find it so tough to run at a consistent pace over that distance, there are always a few outliers either way.
[MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] - I'm not currently planning on the Brighton 10k, but if I can inherit a place, then I'll give it a go and see if I can get closer to a 36dd time. OR, I'll try and borrow the Gully suit and enjoy myself!

Having just got trail shoes I'm worried they're not hardcore enough. Should have gone for crampons.
