Bloody Worthing!
That's not a nudge it's a big leap into the unknown. A whopping 1.23%. Great runnning today. I'll happily post that up in the table but it wll be my last work for 2 months. I'm heading South and not touching that table on my phone,.

Can I must say, as the guy currently in sliver medal position and with no hope of gold, that I'm more than happy with this policy! Have a great trip.

5k PB smashed this morning. :albion2:

18:15 at Hove Promenade, awaiting official confirmation but no doubt about it, a PB for the first time since 23rd September 2017. I didn't feel too confident about getting a PB going in - I could get myself going in the warm up and felt heavy in the first KM but ran it in 3:29. 2nd KM was 3:40, then 3:42, 3:45 and finally 3:35. In miles, it was 5:44, 5:57, 5:57 and the final 0.1 in 5:12 pace. I'm feeling good for the Christmas Day sub-18 attempt but a lot can happen between now and then... namely the Leicester marathon!

Well done Ninja, what did you have for breakfast? Rocket fuel!

Psssssssssss don't tell Knocky as he doesn't believe these sort of times are possible.

21:30 and 19th out of 269 at Congleton in Cheshire for me this morning. Nice flat course, three times round a lake - not as picturesque as I was anticipating. Happy enough after arriving late last night with a 90 min deviation due to the M6 being shut!
Still knocking on the SB door but not quite crossing the threshold.

Wow, outstanding [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

If anyone is interested there’s a track 100 miler going on in the uk at the moment. Winner has finished in a quite daft 12 hrs 25 mins......the thing to look at though is the consistency of his mile splits for the last 150 laps or so. Absolutely astonishing (click the ‘+’ next to his name in the link)

The dream is still sub-3 around Leicester but the biggest difficulty I can see is that I'm struggling to pace myself over longer distances. Before Brighton this year (3:10) I was comfortably able to control my pace and running at 8 minutes per mile for a recovery, and then whatever pace for a longer run was comfortable. I have really struggled to get myself into a similar gear this time - so I'm a bit concerned about pacing myself but I should be ok on the day. The finish sounds like a nightmare, in the context of a marathon!

Heroics are all a question of context and perspective. I nudged over the 70% in the AG (71.23%) and the 18:15 is confirmed on the parkrun website. big nuts with work to do before the end of the season!

Great effort today. Really wish I could have been there for this one. I don't think I would have beaten you but I'm fairly sure I'd have made a decent dent in my PB.

Another time though.

Littlehampton 10k for me tomorrow, with conditions looking good I'd love to get on the table with a new 10k PB.

Not reporting times is against rule 50 for the table. I'd consider deselection but he's not put any records forward anyway.

I won't give up on him. He is a prime candidate for the Weakest Link next year and is doing very well this year.

Ouch, meoooooooooooow

Having run faster myself, with slower kms first, I'm well aware of the possibility.

Only jesting Knocky, I was referring to the way you were implying that no one can run faster than me attitude!

**** this. I'm off for 2 months. You can do the f****** table.

Beware runners we have Dominic Cummings anarchist infiltrating the group. It's against the ethos of the running thread.

Cheers all, very proud of my performance today and surprised - I woke up too late to get to Peacehaven so Hove Promenade was second choice. Annoyingly, Peacehaven's winning time was 20:eek:dd, my all time PB was only enough for 11th! There's some disappointment there but it doesn't overly matter. I had nothing to eat or drink prior to the run - I don't generally eat anything prior to 11am - it has helped my metabolism significantly, only eating between 11am and 7pm (8 hours on, 16 hours off). I started with the beginning of the Brighton Marathon training cycle and kept it up through the rest of the year (America trip aside!).

In celebration, I absolutely hammered into a full rack of ribs at TGI Friday's in Crawley this evening. Glorious preparation for my 20 miler tomorrow!

Look what I did! :lolol:

Great running, must have been quite windy along the coast too so looking well set for sub 18 effort.

I was hoping to run the hellingly 10k tomorrow but it’s full again and I didn’t pre book. I guess it’s a reflection of how popular running has become as I always used to be able to register on the day. So back to some long slow miles instead. Fairly sure I’ll have more fun.

Enjoy your break knocky1. 21:14 is your Salento park run target. Good luck, kinda

Don't worry, I couldn't be your pacer for the first two miles downhill so I'm sure you'll fly!

Looking forward to the John Fraser 10 mile in the morning. Eaten too much tonight which isn't ideal but it doesn't start until 10:30am so a light breakfast and I'll be raring to go. Just got to stay off the gin until bedtime

Longest run in a long while this morning. 13 miles in distance and over 2 hours in time as I ran on the clifftops from the Marina trying to get used to rolling trail again. Bits of steady effort, bits of quick, some hiking and some easy jogging. Very pleased with that, couldn't have done it 2 weeks ago.

The weekend of PB’s continued. I ran 38:11 for the Littlehampton 10k this morning. Very enjoyable run and felt strong throughout by 10k standards.

Hoping to get to a flat Park Run soon in good conditions to get close to Ninja Elephants excellent 18:15 from yesterday.

7 x 5k repeats for me this morning - the intention being to run all 7 in under 25 minutes. The first 6 were fine, the final was less so. My performance dropped off significantly, but overall it was almost 22 miles which is a good training run. 4 weeks to the marathon itself - I'm pretty confident I'll be fine with the distance but I'm concerned about the pace target.

Absolutely buzzing after my first 10 mile race today. Was aiming for 8:30 pace but by my watch I came in at 1:21:13 so was well under that. Waiting for official results but that 1:50 HM suddenly seems possible!

1:50 should be very doable from there. My 10 mile PB is 1:21:06 and I've run 1:46 on a (later to be proved) slightly short course and 1:49 on one that was official. Great running btw. I love 10 mile races, am absolutely gutted Bright10 is no more.
