Parkrun in Swindon was cancelled due to snow.

On a slightly different subject, I’ve looked at the wear on my trainers and notice that it seems to occur most on the outside edge. I’m a forefoot runner so it’s only at the front. Googling suggests this is a sign of underpronation, but all the examples are of heel strikers who then don’t rotate enough. Therefore I’m not sure if advice given applies to me and/or if it’s something I need to worry about and try to correct?

If it aint broke don't fix it? If you have no niggles surely it's ok. When you replace shoes you could show the old pair to an expert.

Went with my mate from last week but he'd had a cold in the week and declined my offer of a tempo mile from 12-13 - thus it was I was on my own bashing out a 7.51 penultimate mile when I saw you. Went back for him and we finished together with a run/walk cool down. Also saw [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION] on the clifftop leading his group out to Newhaven.

Only issue today was I had to bin a Karrimoor hand held water bottle. It was like running round holding a block of ice.

Take warm to hot water next time. I had hot on the Moyleman last year.

Worth a gait analysis check (always take your old trainers to the shop so they can see the wear on them) - any decent running shop will do this for free including videoing you - but if you're not in any pain at all don't worry about it and don't be too seduced by a running shop assistant telling you it needs correcting. It's useful to have the analysis though just so you're more aware of your style, and it helps with shoe choice. If you did want the 'full monty', shops like Profeet in Fulham are fantastic for a full analysis and custom-made footbeds (less invasive/aggressive than full-on orthotics but hugely comfortable, they make them on site at the same time you have the analysis - whole thing takes about 90 mins)

Only 13 for me, following instructions of 5m easy, 7m at target marathon pace (8.30s) then a mile cool down. Pretty much nailed it in just gorgeous running conditions. Can’t beat a bright, clear, windless morning. Happy days [emoji106]....oh, and went for the bottle belt rather than the handheld today. Good decision it seems [emoji23][emoji23]

Really warm on the undercliff in the sun, then freezing through Rottingdean and stunning views on Bazehill and back down Wilson Ave. must have just missed you [MENTION=18183]big nuts[/MENTION], I saw the van parked up by the Marina with the group finishing up.

Unless it's flat, slow, high cadence, wind behind, I'd cut it drastically.

I regularly cycle 50 miles a week but I've not had my bike for two weeks. She's back in full fitness though, so I'll resume tomorrow. It does take a while to get comfortable going from one to the other, I think it's helped me overall because cycling works different muscle groups but when you're running, you need everything to have strength to support your stride. I wouldn't recommend expecting a HM PB on the back of increased cycling efforts though, longer term I think it'll benefit you but shorter term, probably not.

That said, last year I cycled to Worthing from Hove and then smashed my HM PB, the warm up was ideal for me on the day I think - but I was more familiar with the change from cycling to running.

Great conditions for a long run today, beautiful sunrise and a nice run from the marina to Newhaven and back.

One week to Worthing HM and I’m in decent shape but I’ve really neglected speed work (no park run since October) so what impact this has remains to be seen.

Any NSC runners taking this event it or Brighton 2 weeks later?

Phoenix Marathon for me in 6 days time :ohmy: so I'm in full taper mode. It was nice to get outside for a run today with the temperature creeping above freezing for the first time in about 2 weeks. I did an easyish 13k with my running group, dodging the slush now that the big piles of snow have started melting (the downside of the temperature rise).

I'm feeling in good shape for next week. Looking forward to a week in a warmer climate as much as the race itself. The forecast is perfect, 7 degrees and dry at the start and it looks like it won't start to warm up until after I've finished (hopefully).

Is the SB AG% just for 5k?

Great Bentley Half Marathon for me this morning in 1.49.18.
it doesn't trouble my 11 year old PB, but gives me a best ever half marathon AG at 66.35%.
Barcelona Marathon in 5 weeks.

Thanks to [MENTION=27279]dazzer6666[/MENTION] and [MENTION=26634]Simgull[/MENTION] for the shoe suggestions. Popped into RUN in Worthing on Friday and picked up some Saucony Peregrines in fetching orange. Took them out for 7.5 miles of riverbank and SDW action and they felt comfortable and sturdy – much more grip that the Asics.

Time trial around the block this morning saw me way ahead of schedule, before slowing down to not get too ahead of myself and ended up with the same time (when rounded up!) as last week! :dunce:
