Suunto could help one Finnish quicker. Big name in mountaineering for years. Would have considered one myself but battery life not an issue for someone who thinks 5k is a long run. Now I know the top two NSC Ultras have one there must be something to them.

Does it link easily to Strava?

Seamless links to Strava......my runs are up on there before I have had a chance to edit them [emoji23][emoji23]

Use it for both running and cycling. Gets GPS signal quickly. Interfaces with Strava.

I now wear it all the time, with my proper watch gathering dust. I probably do 3ish activities a week and charge it around twice a week. If you want you can download custom watch faces, etc.

My only gripes is that occasionally Bluetooth connectivity fails and I have to reset everything - but that could be my phone. And some of the options and settings are difficult to find: some are on the watch, some are via the app.

I'm also club Garmin 235. Best running watch I've ever had. Wear it all the time as a normal watch too. The wrist heart rate monitor seems pretty accurate, and I like all the features. The only thing I really wish garmin would add is a bluetooth music playing facility like some of the high-spec watches from other manufacturers have. I'd like to listen to music occasionally when I run (although most of the time I'm happy without) but I can't bear running with a phone strapped to my arm or bouncing around in my pocket.

Running my 1st half marathon in 4 weeks. Ran 16km the other morning, felt ok. Any advice from more seasoned runners for the next few weeks and/or the days before?

Keep doing what you’re doing, but have a gentle week in the final week before the race. You could drop in a hard week this week (a couple of productive sessions like an interval session and a longish tempo run, plus a long run, the same next week then wind it down)

Yes, good to meet you. Great course I thought, lovely sunny morning on Swansea Bay (less impressed with the rest of the city so far tbh....). My watch showed 22:33 which is about my pb for an Albion away day Parkrun (but 40 secs slower than my real Brighton Parkrun pb).

What was your time? I've just gone through the table and updated all of the times and records set since the last one and I'll get you added in.

Another Hove Park PB for me today, 18:43. Shaved 3 seconds off last weeks time, but felt pretty harried this morning. I had to absolutely open the taps at the end to steal 11th place - I ran the last 0.1 mile in 4:26 per mile, Strava reckons I hit a 2:37 half mile. It didn't feel like good technique but I sprinted home from the 3k mark and overtook 3 blokes. I think the times between me in 11th and probably 15th are going to be within 5 seconds or so, unless the other gents died a death when I slaughtered them. :thumbsup:

Kept quiet about this but I must admit that [MENTION=23419]penny's harmonica[/MENTION] and [MENTION=4417]The Complete Badger[/MENTION] both caused me to overdo it for the Bevendean showdown. In the month prior my weekly training quadrupled from 3 miles to 12 miles. It went from the flat to hills. It consisted of 100% effort. Managed to squeeze between them on the day BUT for 2 weeks after I was f*****. Dehydrated day after day, headaches and nausea. This week been on rehydration solution and extra salt and have finally recovered. Luckily I'm not too competitive.:wrong:

Managed a returning 22:43 at Hove Park today after 2 weeks off. Probably off course for a SB next Saturday.

This is so reassuring. My PR times have been rubbish for some weeks even tho I rested ok a Friday, but very hard sessions on Thursday. I don’t feel good at the start of PR so prob need more recovery time. Similar age.

Any idea what page the table is on? I need to analyse the AG percentages for next week.

19:00 for me today at Preston Park which hopefully sets me up nicely for next weeks NSC 5k. Felt I'd get under 19 and was a little annoyed when my watched clocked me on 18:59 and something as I knew I'd be rounded up plus I was one back from the front.

Definitely no Regis 10 for me now but hoping for sub 39 10k for Brooks in two weeks.
