First post for a while. I’ve been following the thread from a far, some great running from everyone over the last few months.
New PB for me at Hull parkrun today with 19:13.
My running has been a bit hit and miss over the last few months due to niggles here and there.
Hopefully this is the end of it and I can push on.

Met Simgull this morning and his fine run equalling my SB has led to me changing the table to 5K time for a new perspective. I stay above him as it's my table.

Some great parkrunning by Team NSC. I took to the hills of the (re-routed) Beachy Head Marathon. Two laps of the HM course, which meant no Friston forest, no endless steps and no Cuckmere Haven. It also meant no full set of Sisters all in one go, but four of them (I think) twice, which I think was probably worse.

It's a lovely HM route – I'm not sure running it twice has the same appeal, but at least we didn't have to go down the first hill from the start and then up again for the second lap. And at least we got to race in the first place – the organisers could easily have canned the whole thing.

Anyway, marathon #27 completed in 4:30 for me, which is – I'm sure – quicker than it would've been over the 'proper' route. Great day out – as always – and fabulous support, marshalling and chats with fellow runners  Plus the change in KO time meant I could get home, shower, change and head over the Amex with the Bobkin Jnrs with plenty of time to spare.

How is the table ordered these days knocky1? It has been such a long time since I've had cause to pay attention to it that I've rather lost track of how it works! :D

Ha Ha Didn't have time to proof read as I had pysio appointment. Despite your caustic reply I have put you above St Leonards Seagull even though you are both 71.6% Also found another misplaced runner now corrected.

I am ECSTATIC as the last bit of rubbish stopping my achilles tendon from moving has been pushed away and it's all moving freely. I have no more visits, told I can resume running, do Parkrun on Saturday BUT take things very easy regarding pace and distance for a while.

For soistes and dazzer6666 I had tendonitis which is easily treated over time, he said calcification is much more complex and so I cannot offer help. Good luck to you both.

Thanks, no offence intended... though I think I should be below St Leonards Seagull seeing as he posted a 19:13 SB/PB this weekend! :p

Glad to hear you are on the mend though. :)

Good news indeed. It's not been the same without you.

My apology as a Knocky1 I admired your comment but snapped back in a knocky way. I love causticism. Great fun.

Bollocks! Back to square one. A gentle 2 mile run on grass yesterday and the Achilles pain has returned this morning.

Slightly worrying. Have to work on strengthening exercises.

Sorry to hear that. Not good news, but hope it's not too serious...

Oh that's a bummer. If there's space on the crocks bench then I can join you. A nasty case of Plantar Fasciitis which has prevented me from walking yet alone running for the best (or worst) part of the week. I did even do it running but playing silly buggers with my grandson. But I've had a good 2021 and have to accept the rough with the smooth.

Ouch. I'll bring an extra cushion along for the bench.

Agree with you it's been a good year for you! Also happy with my year. Only 314 miles but achieved an AG PB and ran closer to PG than ever before. Never managed to get a race at full fitness but managed to show potential. Came second in 5 out of 6 one on one challenges. That includes your AG Worthing victory. Enjoyed all 6 challenges.

I'm forgetting about running until the achilles works properly. No Marshalling, Strava spying or come back expectations. Simgull experienced my disillusionment on the Prom this week. Made me realise to accept it and get on with it.

Anyone want a sold out Mince Pie 10m entry for December 5th? Free. Maybe a donation to your charity of choice.

Thanks mate. I agree with your position and am cultivating a zen-like acceptance of my current non-running status. (And I can take out any frustration on my rowing machine.) At the moment I'd settle for being back by the New Year. (I'm a bit of a fair weather merchant anyway!)

I'm in for the Mince Pie already, but if you have no takers for the entry by next week, then let me know. I know a fair few who missed out by being too late to enter.

Morning all.

Quick question about sweating. Obviously it's been a bit chillier this week and the gloves have come out. However, what's the deal with being freezing cold but still sweating? I've never experienced it before in the winter, as far as I can remember. And I'm more still plodding than sprinting, so not exactly giving the body a reason to really get a sweat on.

So is it an age thing? Possible health concern? Anyone else have this kind of thing? ???
