Last evening I was trotting around a busy Hove Park with lots of adults strolling around “my” track. Nearly all were on their phones. For no sensible reason I picked on a group of 4 and shouted “get off your phones and enjoy the walk!!”. They were foreign and didn’t understand my red faced anger! I didn’t stop.
I felt better though. Old age, hey

I kept thinking I must take the view. But most of the time it was head down and get up that hill! I do the Hove prom and Hove park parkruns.
I shall give bevendean a go once it cools down

Have entered Garendon Gallop 10k in a couple of week, Atherstone 10k two weeks after that and the John Fraser 10 mile 2 weeks after that so a busy period for me. Not expecting much on the PB front from the 10k's as Garendon is the first time the event has been held so no idea about the course but I know Atherstone is horrendously hilly having done it last year in the pissing rain. Never done a 10m before so at least guaranteed a PB!

A few of us have a vested interest in the AGs especially the Fufkin and GNT. I like to snoop them out. I wouldn't run all those three races at 100% something may give as a bit close together. I'd choose one as the A race and go for it.
I see a lot of you got out early today. I planned to but decided to make sure I was fully awake to check for any soreness and rehydtrate after 3 days consecutive running. Feel good so will venture out at lunchtime and jump in the sea every mile if it's too hot

It's funny you say that - I saw a cyclist getting grief from an official looking fella in a buggy on the Prom yesterday. He was casually loafing along filming the sea has he went along, and the buggy came up alongside to have a chat. Seemed like overkill to me, the man was barely moving and was fairly obviously getting a nice (if voyeuristic) video of the beach as he went. If he'd been tearing it up, fair game. Madness.
I'm going to take a nice rest today, barring a nice visit to the gym in my building at work, and do a few miles tomorrow evening - got to get my body ready for the 8pm start on saturday.

Haha, I have a vested interest in not publishing my AG as its shocking!
Definitely not going flat out in any of them to be honest. Am training for Leicester HM in October so treating them more as part of my training routine rather than a 'race'. Am aiming at running at my HM pace and if I'm feeling strong pushing a bit for the last 3-4k.
Ha we hide nothing on here. You’re doing really well and have a sensible approach to the 3 events. Have fun!

For all you Lunar-Tics out there, here's a little course update: it's dry as a bone. In fact, I've never seen it (especially on the western/downward side) so arid. Road shoes/hybrids are all you'll need if the conditions stay the same from now until Saturday night.The grasses are quite long in some places (and it can get a bit narrow, but that will flatten down after 100-odd people have all been over it. Perfect conditions for it (it won't be as hot as it was this morning FFS!) and I'm quite jealous of you all!

Found my mojo this week and padlocked it to my legs. Can't beat that feeling of getting back into it. Have printed off my 12 week half marathon training plan, starting Monday, and entered the Arena 80 Withdean track 3k on 5th August.

Worthing, 21.50. Perfect conditions - no wind and nice, cooling rain. Very high quality field today - 8 runners getting AGs of over 80%. I certainly wasn't one of them @ 76.11%. An old git category win though.

Yeah, an update to the update. It's wet and slippery on the west side now on the mud, chalk and thre grass. And, as it's still raining, it's probably going to be the same tonight. Road shoes will have you heading towards the Adur...
