My plan for tomorrow is to pile into 15 minutes hard and fast (as close to 4km as possible) and then a 20 minute parkrun after a 5 minute break. I'd prefer to do this on the promenade but reverse laps of Hove Park would do it. I've had a good solid week of training, so tomorrow is very much a continuation.
The Complete Badger, make sure you say hello next time. I am a tall guy with glasses and floppy oddly grey hair!

Had my London rejection yesterday, which is just as well as I'm still broken as ****. The tendonitis flares every now and again and this groin strain isn't shifting for anyone. Brighton probably in the balance again, seeing as it took my first 20 mile week in a while to break myself.

9 months out with Abductor issues try Accupuntre. Only thing that worked for me

So I made the Prom in good time this morning for the 15 minutes sprint session from the Lagoon to the Peace Statue (and a small loop back toward the Lawns Cafe), 3.6km. 5 minute recovery and then 20:10 for the Prom parkrun - despite the 20:04 official time which is oddly off. There wasn't a start line there today which was odd, it was almost a staggered start because nobody really knew where to start from. Into the wind was tragic, very very tough going and especially after running the session beforehand. I think that without the first part of the session I could have gone sub 19, but it would have been really tough. The 18:18 winning time is very impressive.

I see you could have thrown a blanket over our chaps at Hove Park this morning! All within touching distance of each other. Good running, unpleasant morning!

SB at Orpington this morning which is always nice. Running the Petts Wood 10k tomorrow which I always enjoy. Probably running with my better half so should be able to take it a little easier for once!

No touching distance at Hove Park for me. Without the yellow race shoes I lost 70 seconds on last week! Heavy legged for no reason and got home to have my ancient Garmin show the Blue Screen of Death.

As a recording run times only, checking pace and then distance and getting them on Strava I'm looking at the new basic Forerunner 30. A tight wads bargain at £129. An 8 hour GPS battery life should be enough even for my marathon times. Any feedback?

Well done. I used to live there in 1963.

A bit off a SB at Orpington for me. I am supposed to be working on 5k pace but I have got distracted. My better half has decided from nowhere to aim for a 10k and is making cracking progress, and I have been on her training runs. Yes, I know that is just an excuse!

Have fun tomorrow.

Thanks, although I'm talking nonsense - I actually ran at Bromley this morning! ???

10 years before I was even born. Its nice to have someone make you feel young once in a while, until you realise they are still better runners than you!

Looking at Strava today seems you're still on the up. I'll certainly not be running 20:45 this year and will need a huge training programme to get near it next year. What was your time today the table needs updating?

Yeah - definitely going the right way, but still a minute off my PB from a couple of years ago, and based on how I felt at the end of this mornings run that is a long way off. Also about to get into proper marathon training so suspect speed work will have to take a bit of a back seat for a while.

Forgot about the table - hope this works:-

Saturday Parkrun at plus 70 secs = Sunday Dyke and back at minus 5 minutes.
Very pleased with that as the resurrection continues.

Still in two minds about going down the night before and staying over, or making a day trip. But if I stay over, will definitely do the Parkrun as part of the away day experience (having done Leicester and Bournemouth parkruns so far this season, and planning to do Hackney Marshes the morning after West Ham).

The Sussex half marathon today. Wasn't racing but wanted to take part as my local race and I like to support the guys that run it. It's a tough course very hilly but great training which was my aim. Came in just under 1:52 and amazingly 26th place. Never a huge field but very happy with that and more importantly the foot felt fine until I stopped but managed to stretch it out.

I did Bournemouth the previous time we played there, and did Weymouth pre-Yeovil a few seasons ago.

Good that you're running again. Hilly half marathon, hmm, will you be making an appearance at the Bevendean Parkrun NSC Challenge day after West Ham away?

Phoenix Marathon today, 8 x an out and back route along the Thames from Walton Bridge. God knows how but I missed the turnaround point on the second lap, so did an extra a mile [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Not bothered (didn’t get charged for it) but it did cost me a sub 4. Much better run than of late. Sounds like a boring run but it was actually fine - lots going on, easy to break the race into manageable chunks and an aid station every 3 miles or so. Small field of about 75, half of whom did exactly the same yesterday, the ******* loonies.

Bloody Worthing!
Well done Penny. I bottled out of this (Achilles wouldn't like the hills and the knee might have also joined in the moaning) but would have been very happy with sub 2.00 on what looked like a beast of a course. But sticking to the flat of Worthing prom I put in a reasonable shift of 18 miles in bang-on 9 minute mile time.
