That Ukraine song was terrible, sounded like a tampax advert. Still well done to them, better than the Russians or Australians winning. Oh and well done to all the Polish migrants that voted throughout Europe :lolol:

This is getting progressively worse added by the fact it has now become the Eastern European Song Contest and also now that Australia has moved to Europe and with it being on TV in USA they will soon be European so as to be eligible to take part.

Spent at least 3 hours today explaining to somebody that Australia is slowly floating towards Dover so by the year 2025 it will indeed officially be a part of Europe , sadly for Australia by then the UK will no longer be a part of Europe and we will no longer be able to give Germany fk all points no matter how good their song is .

Managed to totally avoid every song, and all coverage this year.

Job done, have always hated it :lolol:

Russia Today and Wikileaks have been in meltdown about the result since last night. I didn't watch any of it but it was fun to follow the fallout on Twitter. Wikileaks suspects foul play whereas Russia Today describes it as the "Day the music died".

Yes, we're talking about the Eurovision and countries not having a fair crack of the whip because of politically motivated voting - welcome to our world. All the Brits can guarantee is Irish and Maltese support, we're always getting shafted. Anyway, in a fair and just world the Eurovision organisers would have banned Russia from entering the contest simply on the basis of their deeply homophobic anti-gay legislation. Seriously, getting upset about losing the Eurovision. It should be a badge of pride.

It was hilarious - beaten at the last minute by a neighbour singing a song about what *******s you are. Couldn't make it up. The Russian Empire felled by Eurovision humiliation :lolol:

Did I hear right last night that when which ever deluded country it was that gave the UK the 12 points, Graham Norton said that was the first 12 we've been given for about 6 years

It was Malta and no doubt swayed by our historical ties. Basically, it's them and the Irish that we rely on as this table shows:

The long and the short of it is that being an island is a big hindrance to being in the Eurovision but it's great fun. We all know that when it comes to real music, the Brits, Irish and Scandinavians would win every year without fail but it's not about that. It's about laughing at all the other countries who take it very, very seriously.
