Well aware of the history. But it's a different side now. They tanked to get Mathews, Plus traded for young developing talent such as Nylander and Mitch marner. JVR has stayed relatively injury free and his numbers show that. They added experience in marleau. Probably won't win the cup this year but I fully expect to get past the Bruins.

You've been quiet. Bruins lead series 2-0. Still think we'll get past the Bruins?

Sorry having trouble posting from home but here is an update.

So Friday The Flyers get revenge on the Penguins with a 5-1 win and level the series. The Jets go 2-0 up with a comfortable 4-1 win and The Golden Knights get an 2nd o/t win to also lead 2-0.

Then Saturday the Preds win a close one 5-4 to take a 2-0 lead as do the Lightning, The Bruins (not close) and the Sharks who win for the second time in Anaheim.

On Sunday in their crazy series the Penguins win 5-1 to take a 2-1 lead, the Wild fight back now also 2-1 to Jets. The Blue Jackets win again and lead 2-0 and the Nights win in LA to take 3 zip lead.

And last night the Leafs finally get on the board (4-2) to get one back, as do the Devils (5-2) and the Avalanche (5-3). The Sharks power on with an 8-1 thrashing to lead 3-0.

I am always behind, as I record the games and watch after work. I have only just watched game 3 as was at the spurs games last night.

Hence I try to avoid spoilers. Good performance to close to within one. All those named in my post came to the party and got points in game 3. Every chance of progressing.

Need to get on the body early in game 4. Looking like a standard Anderson playoff campaign. Can't get a save early will be lights out later on.

The Sharks became the 2nd team through to round two last night with a close 2-1 win. Elsewhere the big scores in the Flyers Penguins games continue as the Penguins take a 3-1 series lead, Tampa Bay win away to also go 3-1 up as do the Preds with a 3-2 win.

Having just watched game 4. Even I have to admit the game looks up for the leafs. Unlucky to be caught against the run of play for 2-1 But a fairly week fold in the third period given the gravity of the game.

A fantastic first period for the Jets on Friday night sent them on their way through 5-0 on the night winning the series 4-1. Colorado or Nashville in the next round!

An update from Thursday, the Bruins win in Toronto to go 3-1, The Caps win in Columbus to tie the series 2-2.

On Friday Philly beat Pittsburgh to reduce their lead to 3-2, Winnipeg wrap things up with a shutout and a 4-1 series win and Colorado win in Nashville to reduce the lead to 3-2.

On Saturday Tampa progress with another 3-1 win in New Jersey and an o/t Caps goal gives them a 3-2 series lead. Finally the Leafs win in Boston to cut the deficit to one.

Then last night the Penguins beat the Flyers 8-5 with 4 goals in 13 minutes from Jake Guentzel, so they progress 4-2 as do the Preds who won 5-0 in Colorado.

Another predictable* failure then.

Toronto sports teams in completely bottling it shock.

Last night:
* the Leafs couldn't hold on to a 4-3 lead against Boston Bruins
* the Blue Jays led until the 7th inning against Boston Red Sox, and lost.
* TFC fought back to level the aggregate score in the Concacaf Champions league final, but bottled an absolute sitter in the last minute of extra time. They lost on penalties (to a team from Guadalajara, not Boston).

*by everyone except you.

Ahhhhh.......I watched it this morning. Two massive points I can't get over. The leafs got the first goal. Huge in game 7. Having made a mess and allowed an open first period, eventually surrending to a 3-2 first period deficit.

Great character to come back shut out boston in the second and get a shorty for a 4-3 2nd intermission lead. Going into the 3rd what an earth were there doing getting involved the gamesmanship allowing the 4 on 4 and the tying goal and from that point on only one winner.

Having said that. Only 3 visits to the postseason since 2004. It was definitely a step forward on last year's post season. Many players who will be at the leafs long term gaining valuable experience.

Neither the leafs or Boston, had or have a prayer against the lightening. Both teams need to add to their defence to go deep in the SC.

There's a lot of dejected people in my office this morning. It wouldn't be so bad if the Leafs and TFC had both taken an absolute pasting, but of course that's not the Toronto way.

The Raptors won in the NBA playoffs though. Unfortunately basketball is shit.

Can imagine. Bad enough watching in my living room , shuffling around with dissapiontment following the defeat. Especially as looked so promising for so long. Glad I didn't have to share an office with lots of like minded people mulling it over. Most people I speak to just don't care. Or have no idea what I am wittering on about.

Not entirely sure about that.

I was at TD Garden and watched the Bruins beat the Lightning a few weeks back. Lightning really struggled and now Nash is fit again, I think they’ve got a chance.

I guess I'll be supporting the Jets now. It's got to be a Canadian team.
