Be nice if the Rangers can finish it off early and have a rest whilst the others go the full seven. Fingers crossed.

Here
I went to my third ice hockey game ever and the Blackhawks played all night long so I had to leave. The match went to 3 overtimes. It ended near 1:00 a.m. (7 a.m. BST) I had to leave early in the 1st overtime. The hockey fans are so enthusiastic and patriotic in Chicago that they continously cheer through out the national anthem and the whole match. It was really thrilling. The singer of the anthem is an operatic singer who belts it out in high volume over the cheering of the crowd. Simply amazing!

Heads were hanging again in "da Hawks" land. Many in the hotel pub (bar) watched the match and went away despondent. Joel Quennville, da Hawks head bench coach, is a smashing good skater also. I saw him displaying his skill on the telly.

And Rangers have done it - great win beating the Penguins 2-1 in overtime on their home turf at MSG and taking the series 4-1. Karl Hagelin got the winner and Lundqvist played a blinder in the 3rd period. They go on to the next round and meet either the Capitals or the Islanders - hopefully the Islanders making it an all New York series. I was watching it in a bar rammed with Rangers fans - marvelous scenes!

Oh well it's the Capitals in the next round, I was hoping it would be the Islanders to make it an all New York competition but it wasn't to be.

Next year the Islanders will be playing at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after 43 years at the Nassau Coliseum.
