Stoke seem very happy to get Sima. They're even trying to work out a song for him and Ostigard, their two Brighton lads! Not very successful with the lyrics yet (and there has to be the one retard who thinks 'Does your boyfriend know you're here' is funny and original - and lo and behold, up the cretin pops!) Anyway, have a laugh ................
https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/301270/sima-ostigard-chant
Maybe we should offer to lend them one or two of our resident terrace lyricists to help them? (with scansion, perhaps......)

The thread actually welcoming Sima is very enthusiastic, by the way.

West Brom quite pleased with Molumby too - hope the move works out well for him

End of window update:

Florin Andone to Cádiz (La Liga)
Billy Arce to LDU Quito (Ecuadorian Serie A)
Moisés Caicedo to Beerschot (Belgian First Division A)
Matt Clarke to West Bromwich Albion (Championship)
Alex Cochrane to Heart of Midlothian (Scottish Premiership)
Lars Dendoncker to St Johnstone (Scottish Premiership)
Jan Paul van Hecke to Blackburn Rovers (Championship)
Teddy Jenks to Aberdeen (Scottish Premiership)
Michał Karbownik to Olympiacos (Greek Super League)
Reda Khadra to Blackburn Rovers (Championship)
Ryan Longman to Hull City (Championship)
Kaoru Mitoma to Royale Union Saint Gilloise (Belgian First Division A)
Jayson Molumby to West Bromwich Albion (Championship)
Leo Skiri Østigård to Stoke City (Championship)
Carl Rushworth to Walsall (League Two)
Abdallah Sima to Stoke City (Championship)
Christian Walton to Ipswich Town (League One)
Jensen Weir to Cambridge United (League One)
Andi Zeqiri to FC Augsburg (German Bundesliga)

Without passing too much comment on some of the players loaned out and their destinations (all we can do from the outside is hope that David Weir and Dan Ashworth know what they're doing!), thats a total of 19 players, not counting any part time non-league loans for the U18s. Seven in the Championship, including at promotion chasing West Brom and Stoke.

Tudor Băluță and Jurgen Locadia are possible further outs, given that the transfer window is still yet to close in several countries including Romania, Czechia, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia.

Some will go well, some will go poorly, and in all likelihood somewhere between 2-5 will join the first team squad next season. Clever development/moneyball/Chelsea-lite/talent hoarding depending on your perspective. If nothing else, it gives us a lot of other results to look out for!

You forgot Walton.

Can't find Walton to Ipswich on here! Probably won't be coming back as out of contract when his loan ends, I think, but still ours at least for the moment! Why the highlighted ones?

I have no idea who has created this twitter account (it isn't me!), but there appears to be a new account devoted to Albion players out on loan. Some may wish to take a look:-

Not many of our lads involved today, for obvious reasons. Rushwoth was a busy boy as 10 man Walsall battled to a 1-1 draw at promotion chasing Bradford. Danny Cashman (not actually ours any more, but still) came on as a sub for Rochdale at Port Vale and provided an excellent pass for Dale to grab the winner - Port Vale 2: Rochdale 3

Jensen Weir came on as a second half sub for England U-20s and scored the fourth goal in a 6-1 win vs Romania U-20s.

Loanees not much in favour today, as far as I can see (in the UK) - only Ostigard, Rushworth and Walton seem to be starting (apologies if I've missed anyone). Dendoncker an unused sub at St. Johnstone.

Not much more cheer at final whistle either - Longman got about 10 minutes for Hull and that was it!

Zeqiri came on for Augsburg (0-0 away against Union Berlin) in the 63rd minute.

Not a loan, but Gyökeres scored for Coventry (again).

Andi Zeqiri came on as a 63rd minute sub for Augsburg at Union Berlin in a 0-0 draw of few chances. Best chance of the game came with minutes remaining, Zeqiri bearing down on goal with only the keeper to beat. Below is a despondent striker who has sliced his relatively easy chance wide of goal.

On contrast to yesterday's disappointing lack of games for our loanees, Alex Cochrane has just completed the full 90 minutes of an Edinburgh derby, to add to his 90 minutes against Celtic (twice). Brilliant cross near the end which the Hibs defender almost put through his own goal would have made a fantastic last minute winner, but not quite to be!

Wonder where he's going to be next season?

Any news on Longman at Hull, doesn't even seem to be in the squad, has he picked up an injury?

Came in as a sub tonight vs. Blackburn (for whom Reda Khadra also came on in the second half). Not much about him from the Hull fans though (they are a pretty dejected lot after tonight).

Khadra on the other hand seems to have impressed Blackburn fans ...........
"...... can tell you after 5mins that Khadra is the best player at our club. Sheer quality"

"The first half was truly abject. And then the second half spell around the goals we were as good as I have seen us. Really fantastic. Butterworth and Khadra look something else.....
(I think Butterworth is one of their youth products). As I said, not much from Hull about Longman, but total endorsement about the influence of our lad (and the Blackburn lad) - "Subs changed the game" just abut sums up their analysis.

P.S. Not strictly about our loanees, but young Rushworth is going down well in the darkest depths of the black country, and Walsll fans are eyeing up another link:-

"Glad I went tonight. A really entertaining game and very good second half performance. Make no mistake Brighton’s kids- (excluding their 35 year old midfielder who played for Kilmarnock last season and was sent off for a horrible challenge ) were well up for this.
The lad up front they signed from Benfica under the nose of Man City looked class. As we have a connection now with Rushworth I’d love him on loan in January".

Sarmiento to Walsall in January? Who knows! Not sure half season loans work out that well - Molumby, Connolly for example - but we've got so many youngsters positively gagging for some first team football at the moment, and maybe not quite ready to get it in the PL with us. Interesting times (and good ones).
