Way out west
I was woken up at about 5.15 this morning by someone revving their engine up then driving away from just outside my house, never really got back to sleep again after that, as a result I am absolutely knackered and should have no problem getting to sleep.

Had I not drunk about three litres of Irn Bru (including three cans of their red bull-level stuff) today I'd be able to get to sleep after being woken up early, but I'm currently as high as the ISS and running out of walls to bounce off...

Got a couple of large fans pointed at the bed. Bit noisy but my god, it's heaven having two jets of cold air on your back until you fall asleep.

And when you wake up too. Mmmm, couldn't manage without it.

I heard a really good tip today on fans (no, not FANNYS - keep it down at the back). Anyway, fill up a couple of empty 2 litre bottles with water (not all the way to the top though). Put them in the freezer, then when they're frozen, place the bottles of frozen water in front of your fan, and PRESTO - your very own budget air conditioning unit. It will blow cool air around your room and you will be proclaimed a genius and a messiah by your grateful housemates.

You have not been charged for this exclusive tip.

Odd really - I hate this heat, so not really sure why I'm going to Lanzarote for two weeks in August
:dunce:

Ah, it's okay now. According to the metro this morning, London was hotter than Lanzarote yesterday.
