Cliff Lee :bowdown:v David Price. Showdown of arguably the top pitchers in the AL.

1.07am start. The biggest game in the Rangers 50 year history.

1.07am start? Are the players as bad there as they are at Withdean and they have allowed a full 7 minutes for them to walk out?

Nobody cares

Oh but they do. Indeed I rather doubt that on the Ranger's or Ray's messageboard there is going to be a thread about The Albion being top of the Third Division.

Come On Rangers! and save something in the tank to send the Yankees home.

But I suspect I'm the only saddo on this Board staying up half the night to watch it on MLB.com.

2-1 Texas after 4. Cliff has his curve ball going, just struck out the side.

Was in Seattle last month and saw the Texas Ranger win 6.1 against the Seattle Mariners

Stayed up late and disappointed by my Rays over the series. Texas out Ray'd the Rays stealing bases etc. and we just couldn't compete. Good luck against the Yanks

Can see us loosing a couple of big names so our side may not be back for a while considering division.

Just watching the replay on EPSN America. Had started to doubt Texas after losing two at home, but Lee makes all the difference. Threw 90 strikes in 120 pitches according to MLB.com. Shame he won't be pitching until Game 3 against the Yankees, but if Texas are two up by then, it could be the clincher...

Latest odds for WS:

Philadelphia Phillies 5/4 Totesport
New York Yankees 7/4 Betfair
Texas Rangers 5 Totesport
San Francisco Giants 9 William Hill

I doubt Texas will be 2 up...

best bet may be Cliff to win it in the 7th game.

True, Sabathia will be hard to beat on Friday. Rangers won't lack for confidence though, and split 4-4 with the Yankees over the season. If it does go to game seven, the Rangers would probably be favourites with home advantage and Lee pitching against any of the Yankees rotation, even Sabathia.

Lefty CJ Wilson will go against Sabathia Friday. He pitched a two-hitter for game 2 v the Rays and has the stuff to beat anyone.

being a Rays fan, obviously gutted this morning.. i do hope to see the Rangers top the Bombers in the ALCS and then get routed by the Giants in the World Series.

great job again by Lee last night, though it'll make him that little bit harder to hold onto in a months time ;-)

Under no illusions we'll be able to hang on to Lee. There is a great spirit in the Rangers, though, as there is with the Rays. It was great to see how the momentum swung in the series and the part the management/tactics played. Amazingly, the Rangers won with pitching and 'small ball' (I didn't think I'd ever type that!).

Another outstanding performance by Lee last night. He would have pitched the ninth too if they hadn't been 8-0 up at that point.

Must also make it much more likely that he will be with NYY next year though. The only way to stop him beating them in the postseason is to put him on the payroll.
