As somebody who, on here, would be classed as a hard left, red flag waving, Trotsky loving socialist I actually I agree with you. But we live in an age where whats right or wrong is whats spin the media put on it. And it looks like the media have got it in for Cameron, and I for one am quite enjoying it. Makes a change for the boot to be on the other foot.

they have it in for him because he slippery and for a PM to lecture about how good this great country is he still put his money into a foreign bank
very patriotic of him

Admire your honesty, all this faux outrage and condemnation is something to behold. Also completely understand your and others enjoyment of this situation as people of a similar political persuasion haven't had much to cheer about for quite some time.

They may be very many things, but "anti-Semitic"? That's very unlikely for the majority of them surely?

I was referring to Mr Corbyn sharing a platform with representatives of Hamas/Hezbollah and introducing them as friends. See Hamas Charter/covenant for their opinions of Israel and Jews.

I know what you were referring to. I was just being a pedant - Arabs are Semites as well as Jews, so unlikely that Hamas etc are truly "anti-Semitic"....

That's nit-picking taken to silly levels. We all know what it means and the origin of the word.

Truth is the Labour Party and the hard left have a serious problem with anti-Semitism. It's a national disgrace.

I'll take your admonishment, and apologise.
However to single out Labour / the left for criticism as racist / anti-Semitic is going a bit too far isn't it? You really think they have more of a problem than the right or even the mainstream Tory party in this space? Isn't it just that the Tories hide it better, and that Labour in partulicular has struggled to clearly delineate a dislike of the Israeli state and its actions from other, much less savoury prejudices?

Ah I see what you did there very good.

Moving on to your anti semitism can be found in all political parties and elements of society point yes of course that is true. But only one political party has been taken over by the more extreme elements where tolerating or excusing these views are the norm.

Which leads back to my original point of the warped moral relativism by many on the far left. They associate with and warmly embrace good friends in Sinn Fein/IRA or Hamas/Hezbollah but heap on vitriolic condemnation for tax matters.

Another example which often amazes me is the Anti Fascist groups who turn out in numbers to confront the BNP/EDL but studiously ignore the extreme Fascist elements within the Islamic community. Who is the greater threat? I think it's fair to say if there had been large growing communities of white American Christian fundamentalists or 'Zionists' in this country who believed in segregating their women, punishing apostates and isolated themselves off from the host community, plus of course a small minority blowing us up ... the far left would be leading the condemnation/fight .... truly bizarre.

Blimey, when are our NSC hard leftie friends ever going to get over the fact that they lost an election they arrogantly thought was in the bag;and then in a 'moment of madness' elected a weird fellow that most of the British public deems unsuitable PM material.
Get your own house in order first and then your party will be able to mount a credible alternative to the present Government, you dislike so much.
That would be far more effective than ranting and foaming at the mouth on a footy forum.

Apologies, didn't mean to come on strong but I've seen in the past the comment about Palestinians being semites too as some sort of deflection from the problem of anti-Jewish bigotry. It's a bugbear of mine but I'm not implying that you are doing that here.

But no it isn't too far to say that Labour have problems here. The Jewish Chronicle report article after article about anti-semitism in the Labour Party and the JC editor had this to say about the issue http://www.express.co.uk/comment/ex...-party-Piers-Corbyn-Gerry-Downing-Vicki-Kirby

,You don't have it being debated at the highest level within the Tory Party, Richard Angell of Progress and a very senior and wel-respected Labour figure openly admits the problem stating "Labour has a problem with antisemitism within its ranks" and has called for immediate action. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/8-steps-labour-needs-take-7694155

This is possible the most damning, the British President of the Board of Deputies saying this about the Labour Party: http://www.theguardian.com/politics...-must-stop-fobbing-off-antisemitism-in-labour Labour have currently an ongoing inquiry into anti-semitism at Oxford University and they have had reported dozens of party members recently for online comments. I think something like 70% of Jewish voters voted Conservative in the last election and the Jewish Chronicle I think estimated that support is now rising into the eighties. I am sure there are anti-Jewish Conservative supporters but there is not an institutional issue in the way that I would argue the Labour Party has.

Another new example. Luton Labour councillor suspended over Hitler tweet

A Labour councillor has been suspended from the party over anti-Semitic comments on her Twitter account.
A message on Luton councillor Aysegul Gurbuz's Twitter feed claimed Hitler was the "greatest man in history".
Another tweet on Ms Gurbaz's account suggested Iran could develop a nuclear weapon to "wipe Israel off the map".

What money has he put into a foreign bank.

If we take your 'truth' at face value, are all the people within the UK who have money in Santander likewise at fault because they have investments in a foreign bank.

A large number of people are therefore unpatriotic in your eyes.

What next ban shoppers from Aldi as its a foreign supermarket.

Lets get Trump over and build a wall around the whole of the UK so those nasty foreigners cant get in, we must only buy and invest in pure UK firms.

Great Thinking on your part, only the truth gets in the way

:lolol: I remember all the threads about the state of the Labour Party when Corbyn was ushering in change. And now look at the Tory party, ripped apart once again by Europe with the two main guys clinging on for credibility. He who laughs last .......

The EU vote will come and go, and we will stay in as we both know, and the tries will always have a spat on it. Tax issues, no matter how trivial and legal like this one, will of course always be around and will also be overblown by the media. DC will survive until he leaves before the next election. Corbyn though is unelectable and we all know it, its only a matter of time before he is off and can have coffee at Abbotts plaice in peace

Ha! That's where you keep making your mistakes because you've got absolutely no clue about timing. You think this is the end? Pfft! The laughing stops after the next General Election. If I remember rightly, you f**ked up monumentally and shot your load all over a Labour win just six months left before the date. There's what? 3 or is it 4 years to go until the next election? The Tories will get their act together long before that with a new leader. All that the current ruptures are doing is pushing more votes for a Brexit and I think you've made a big song and dance about not wanting that.

I'm sure you do want a weak Tory government but it really is in the best interests of everyone in the Remain camp that they appear strong until after the referendum, definitely not right now. But after the referendum I think it's a given that Cameron will go and the Tories will get the new leader bounce and can spin some bullshit about listening to the public, changing direction etc etc and they'll romp home against Corbyn and his Marxist not-a-clue-what-he's-doing shadow chancellor. You see? You're so blind to what is going on that you're already cheering in the wrong places.
