thought it was 5 days for the lot ?

It's been three days since they first lifted the arch, 5 if you include the weekend, and still nothing is permanently in place, and to be honest, nothing looks imminent as the area hasn't been sectioned off like it was on Friday. Strange, but as everyone keeps saying "I'm not an engineer" !

The name gives it away
I really can't see the arch going up until the New Year now. As far as I remember the workforce finish this weekend and arn't back until January. If thats right then even if they get the first bit sorted once its up in the air all sorts of welding and other work has to take place to make it secure. I hardly think there likely to leave it dangling for two weeks in case the weather turns extremely windy.

Mind you I'm not an Engineer either so I'm probably completely wrong and the whole lot will be up by lunchtime tomorrow!

Sounds plausible. Still, suppose they know what they are doing, just frustrating as I was expecting it done!

If I was on site knowing this was my last week, I would be winding down now. They have worked their nuts off for the last 6 months in all weathers/

At least January will be exciting month for photos and I would expect the arch up by the end of Jan.

It's the cold, Truf. It's done it a few times in the mornings.

It seems to have gone all soft-focus. Are they making a 1970s porn movie?

well the webcam is next to pointless at the moment, so I wouldn't worry about it

I took a walk there yesterday at lunch, they are all ferreting away around the west / north stands - i.e where you can't see!

The excavation is pretty far done and I saw concrete being poured into a hole.

Meopham, Kent.
Crane looks to have died again now. Just showed brief signs of life, but sadly it's starting to look like a Dead Crane sketch.
