Official FALMER WEBCAM Merged Threads

Any idea of the dimensions of the triangular roof supporting thing? Looking at the drawing you posted a couple of days ago it appears to be about the same width as roughly 10 rows of seats. That's bloody massive if that's the case.

If i'm honest, it's something I've not really looked at much as the focus is on other things (as it's a fair way away, I have a feeling that all the design drawings have not been issued to us yet - if they have, I've not seen them). It looks as though the size varies as the span increases. Needless to say, it's going to be very impressive.

I'll see if I dig some info out

When viewing the webcam on firefox at home I have the the “auto refresh” function option on/off near the top of the page,

But at work using firefox at work the box is missing, so have to re boot lobstervision page eac time. Is the tick box somewhere to make the auto refresh option visible ?

It may be down to the screen resolutions. It sounds as though your home screen may be set to a higher res than the work screen.

I have my screen set to 1024x768 (so my wife can see what she's doing). I can't see any of the switches (auto-refresh, full or log-out). The whole section is taken up by the Seagulls webcam banner.
When I switch the res to 1440x900, all 3 options are visible with a smaller banner.

Worth trying a diff res if you can.

NJ, I did ask on another thread, but you can't have seen it (slipped onto page 2 now)

Have you been involved in any other stadia? If so, how does Falmer compare (constructionwise and looks)

Oh, and can you tell the guys to erect the scaffolding in the right place instead of trying to push it into place afterwards? They'll find it much easier.

I've worked on the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff which is obviously a bigger development, but what I can say is that in comparison to all the grounds I've visited with Swansea in the Championship, I think yours will certainly be up there with the best. Sometimes bigger isn't always better (as I tell my wife regularly)!!

With regard to the steel fixer pushing the scaffold about, I don't know how to communicate 'your sacked' in Polish, so i'll have to get someone else to do it

went up there yesterday to have my first look since the steels been up, certainly looks impresive, 2 question though. whats happening with all the chalk behind the east stand, and the length of the concrete terraces, is that all finished now?

I know it's all to do with holding up the roof but what will those long spikes of steel connect to? They're awesome, that is going to be some strength.

Thanks Everest. you were spot on.
Screen resolution it was, because the Seagull web cam banner stays the same size regardless of the resolution, it hide the refresh buttons.

I may be wrong but I dont think they connect to anything. They will be incased in concerte.THey are just there for added strength, and then the roof pillars (or whatever they are called) will sit onto top of it

Did you ever manage to find out why some of the 'internal' steel beams were white, rather than gray?!!?
