I'm hoping that the signings of E Bennet and Bent show that someone in the club realises that something has to be done to stop the rot.

Never rated Bent as a Premiership striker, but I think he could do a job at this level, and if we can keep him for longer and get another physical quality striker alongside him, then together they could make a real difference.

Optimistic head says top 10.

Downbeat head says we'll be looking over our shoulders with 2 games still to go.

Never a dull season I guess.

Come on then, lots of Albion mojos are properly ROARING back.

Where can we realistically go this season? Here is the league table:

1Derby181835
2Bournemouth181732
--------------------------------------
3M'boro181432
4Ipswich18831
5Brentford18231
6Blackburn18430
--------------------------------------
7Watford181029
8Nottm Forest18628
9Charlton18228
10Norwich18627
11Wolves18-327
12Cardiff18126
13Sheff Wed18-222
14Huddersfield18-621
15Reading18-621
16Leeds18-520
17Fulham18-519
18Millwall18-519
19Birmingham18-1419
20Brighton18-318
21Bolton18-718
--------------------------------------
22Rotherham18-1018
23Wigan18-417
24Blackpool18-188

That'll be us, perilously close to the relegation zone. But look, just 12 points off 6th and 14 off 2nd, with TWENTY EIGHT games to play.

I'd tolerate 20th by the end of the season, I'd be content with mid-table, but let's dream a bit here. Huge crowds, a bit of form and where could we go?

So that'll be 22 score draws then.

71 points has been enough for 6th the past 2 years - 53 from 28 is 1.9 points a game.

Tough but not impossible. I'm sure we averaged 2 points a game post Ulloa and Upson signing in 2013.

I know. Great stats, but as we saw from that Squarko (or whatever its called) thread, according to performances, we're 3rd in the league.

I just think he's a bit lazy. Fulham fans hated him (which hopefully means he'll score a hat-trick on Saturday.) Either way, I'll give him a cheer when his name's mentioned.

I'm optimistic that he can do something for us in the championship.

No, no we don't.

A FIVE game winning streak starting Saturday would probably leave us six points (ish) outside the top six with half the season still to play.

One minute you want the Fin out and the next singing his praises.

We will soccer Middlesborough off the Riverside park 0-7 on the last day of the season in a "winner-gets-second-place-and-automatic-promotion" showdown

The prospect of having to read the outpourings of all of the NSC doom merchants if we ever do achieve promotion is soooo depressing that I will pitch this season's hopes at round about 12th place and be very cautious about wanting anything much better in future seasons.

Reading were only 3 points better off than us at this same stage in 2011 when they went on to then win the league in 2012…

Sorry to poop the party but until we get a few more wins and dispense with the ludicrous squad rotation (and would rather dispense withSami altogether) my mojo is still LOW

As in the other thread, our performances are OFFICIALLY* the third best in the division. As we've signed Darren Bent since that was done, I see no reason we can't get promoted automatically. WE ARE GOING UP!

*Ok, not officially but Squawka's analysis is good enough for THIS thread

The moment through balls the like of which we saw v Bournemouth become the norm, not just a one off, I'll be going all in.

No point having Bent if we're not going to supply him.
