Gus Poyet will return to face former club Swindon Town on the opening day of the 2010/11 season, as Albion open the new campaign with a trip to the defeated playoff finalists on Saturday 7th August.
The Carling Cup campaign opens with a midweek trip to Northampton Town (date to be confirmed) before Albion open their home campaign with a visit from newly promoted Rochdale on Saturday 14th August - a good omen for Poyet, as the last time the Seagulls opened with a home fixture against Dale, the side won the third division title.
A week later they visit Sheffield Wednesday, before Chris Hutchings' Walsall side visit Withdean on 28th August.
Nicky Forster will be back at Withdean with new club Brentford on Tuesday 28th September. The former Albion striker signed a two-year deal with the Bees yesterday.
Albion visit south-coast rivals Bournemouth on Saturday 9th October and Southampton a month later, on Tuesday 23rd November, with return fixtures in January and April respectively; Saints visit Withdean on Easter Monday 25th April.
Over Christmas, Albion face Notts County on the 18th December (although that match is likely to switch to Friday 17th December, due to Withdean planning regulations), before a Boxing Day visit to Dagenham & Redbridge, for the first-ever league meeting between the two clubs.
Albion face back-to-back home games against Charlton Athletic in the afternoon on Tuesday 28th December (Bank Holiday) and Russell Slade's Leyton Orient on New Year's Day, before trips to Exeter City on 3rd January and Yeovil Town on 8th - unless either side is still involved in the FA Cup at third-round stage.
The Seagulls face a tough run in with Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Colchester United and Huddersfield Town in the last six games; they close the season with a visit to Notts County on Saturday 7th May.
