So because other clubs have ridiculous cowboy attitudes to hiring and firing managers (and being laughed at) we should throw all of our hard work out of the window and follow their model?

I think not.

Poyet (although he has his faults) is doing a brilliant job and even if nothing really changes for the next two or three years and we steadily stay upper half Championship, I would still want him as manager.

They have money and the albion clearly don't, tactics and results is what its about and the manager calls the tune, how long does gus have??

Never has someone had a more apt username. See you joined in Nov 2011. Do you remember any other managers we had?

What has being able to name previous managers got to do with this post ?

It looks to me as if you are saying that if you have not been on NSC since it inception, you can't have an opinion.

I have not been on too many years, and have supported Albion since 1948, and have seen players that you probably have not heard of. So do your remarks exclude the likes of me also ?

Second season in the Championship. Behind the scenes the academy is getting stronger, and soon a new training ground (30m) to strengthen the club.
Best stadium and biggest attendances in the league. Good football, which other managers/supporters seem to appreciate more than many of our own.
I bet many managers would love to manage at the Amex.
I understand that the hierarchy at the club do expect to get in the play off positions this year.
Hopefully a decent striker will be brought in soon and we can keep CMS, Buckley and Bridcut. Then we shall see.
Last season, many supporters just wanted to be able to stay in the Championship, now it seems we have the divine right to get promoted.
I can wait, the future (compared to a lot of clubs) looks good from my rose tinted glasses.
ENJOY. :)

Trust I'm just reading that out of context otherwise what a strange comment from an Albion supporter.... I will keep supporting Albion until the day I die regardless of who's the manager - and hopefully that will continue to be Gus for many years to come.

err yes. Reading a little more between the lines than intended. Ive supported at the Goldstone as a child, done my time at Gillingham whilst in my teens, trekked to Withdean and now to the glorious Amex and this whilst all manner of managers at the helm so dont worry, no chance of me abandoning them yet. And I actually think Gus is doing ok. I think we will make the play offs this year.

No, No they don't. You didn't start another fishing thread on Poyet.

Ridiculous thread.
I'm sure one of our statisticians could tell us, but I am sure that our current league position is higher than our historical average. Gus has guided us to that position, making mistakes along the way, but overall he has made more positive than negative decisions. Under Poyet, I have seen an Albion team play some of the best football I have ever seen, even going back to some of the days under Mullery (first time round). Some people need to get a grip. If you ever saw the likes of Mike Trusson play, then you would never be critical of what we see at the Amex currently. Rant over.
