it depends where you are it could be the fire brigade or trading standards dept. they issue petroleum licenses. every petrol station has to have a license.

you would be bloody mad to own a petrol station as an individual ,more likely owned by running a limited company therefore try companies house if you know the company name, or if you know the address get in touch with the county council the council website should be able to point you in the right dirrection.

I have a name and i want to know how many garages they own in a particular region - I believe he is slightly mad but he does own about 16 garages and i need a comprehensive list of them.

Companies house shows him as a director but the company name is generic and he has his accountants as his reg office addres...

I have the address of two garages and the chaps name.

The Petroleum officer at North Yorks trading standards - is checking to see if the list is public info - nealry there.

do you need to know if he owns the garages or runs them. if you need to know if he owns the garages then you will need land registry. the petroleum license will be in company name and does not prove ownership. the company could be renting off of a third party.
