The board held their meeting yesterday to decide that they need to, shock horror, hold another meeting with Mike Newell so they can question him about his comments.

His comments about Amy Rayner were out of order and he may well pay a heavy price for that, but his comments concerning Bill tomlins, the LTFC chairman were spot on. Luton's on-going struggle to get a new ground makes it look like Falmer is being fast-tracked through the system !

The MoD are today going to release the names of the four servicemen killed in the boat attack in Iraq. It's believed one of them was female. I'm sure Mike Newell will have something to say about her being out there in the first place.

Then again, as long as she's not running the line at Luton he'll be happy.

Sorry. My point which I was trying to put across (badly) was that if women are capable of fighting in wars in Iraq, why does MN think that they are incapable of running up and down a line with a flag.

Luton will never sack Newell, but as ever have to be seen to be going through the motions of slapping him on the wrist to appease the media/public at large.

There is no reason why women can't run the line - they may even be better than men at it, but Newell's comments were still very funny.

Completely agree.

Cheerleaders / burgervans = yes
Referee / lineswoman / actually playing = no f***ing chance :censored:

Women are ruining the great game, i wouldnt even let them in the stands if it were up to me.

She belongs in a sweat shop or on the end of my bang cock!

*boom boom*

Lesbians, and power hungry were equal bla bla bla are the sort that get into our gr8 game.

Mike newell is now a hero and goes well up in my estimation..at the end of the day if he thinks some daft bint has lost his team a point he's got the right to stand up and say " Oi love where's me fcukin tea you clough eared slag stop trying to be a man you lesbian freak bitch"!

I have to confess, I did snigger slightly on hearing the bit where Newell said: "I tried to talk to her through the referee but she wasn't saying anything to me. He said he couldn't overrule any of the decisions, because she seemed very sure she was right."

I mean - we've all been there...

Too far from the sun
I like female assistant refs ever since Wendy Toms 'forgot' to flag Lee Steele offside as he headed a winner against Bristol City a few years ago. I think that goal either promoted us or confirmed us as champions. Her 'blind eye' obviously had nothing to do with the fact that the Brizzle left back had yelled something at her along the lines of 'you should've stayed in the fvcking kitchen' about 5 minutes before
