It'll be easy to get to the bar......there'll be loads of tight arsed students waiting for their employed mates to get a round in!

Yeah, Students, they're like well skint and tight arsed with their money, arf arf.

Nothing I love more than a bit of working stiff jealousy masquarading as student bashing. When I was a student I seemed to have far more expendable income then I do now. 6 of us used to drink together, 4 of us would splash the cash and the other 2 were a bit tight. It's individuals not students that are tight.

My missus was curious and went to a preview night on Monday and her comments just about summed it up: "Full of chavs and fat inappropriately dressed slappers". NB She doesn't fit into either category!

I guess you can redesign, paint and revamp the place but the fact remains it will still be catering to the dross that frequent West Street on a Fri & Sat night.

hmmm...that's a polite way of saying "polishing a turd".

Cheers for the heads up CF. I'll give it a very wide berth.

I love that saying, "Polishing a turd", sums it up nicely. I will reserve my own judgement on Oceana until such time as I have dealt with the inevitable pissheads and fights that will erupt in due course.

Anywhere with THEMED areas is bound to be shit innit.

'Oooooooh I think I'll go to Ice Bar in Rekyavik next and then to Monte Carlo and pull some posh sort in the Casino and then go disco dancing with her in the 70's bit like Jim Travolta in that Friday Night Fevers film'.

What a bunch of ****s.

It was alright for you though, you moonlighted as Brighton's top rent boy in your student days

...and this is without any people under 20.

That queue on Thursday was the longest I have ever experienced in all my time out clubbing.

Some time this week I am going to get off my arse and go to the Oceana in Cardiff. But I refuse to go to those tacky student nights. I'd rather pay more for a calm and pleasant night out.

Interesting that you think the natives of Cardiff will provide you with a calm and pleasant night. I often found that student nights while a bit hectic were much calmer and pleasanter than the nights with the natives in the towns where I went to uni.

True, the locals are the best specimens of the human race. But I just hate students, especially around loan payment dates.
