Too late, I just bought The Shield. I can tell it’s old eg non-HD.

Thanks for the reminder on all those other well known classics, I haven’t watched any of them. Chernobyl is generally rated highly... on the list too.

Sh*t the bed - you haven't watched The Sopranos?

Stop everything NOW and fill that hole in your life.

I genuinely am still reeling from you detonating this news bomb.

I've come to the conclusion you have been cunningly saving the very best till last.

I've done The Wire twice.

The West Wing about 4 times.

The same for The Sopranos, but lose myself in YouTube rabbit holes, just going through 'Paulie's greatest lines ', 'Tony fight...' 'Top 10 scenes from series 1...' etc etc.

It's the only show I always watch the opening credits.
It's the only show I watch, that by the end I believe I'm a character.
It's the only show I have never oversold to a newbie!

The West Wing 1-4 is quite superb, written by Aaron Sorkin.
I rewatched it recently, occasionally with Stat Club Juniors.

The only fly in it's ointment now is it was really idealistic back then.
So watching it in the shadow of the world today just made my heart break (not that it wasn't already smashed to smithereens)

Danish series – The Investigation (Efterforskningen) – has released its first trailer.

It will adapt the emotional true-crime of the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall by Danish entrepreneur Peter Madsen.

On the Beeb later this year.

All of The Shield is on All4 for free. And Justified is on it from today/tomorrow

I've always been aware of those and that they're adored.

Just a matter of available time eg we loved Breaking Bad, The Americans and House of Cards, plus all Nordic Noir and I we got a blu-ray of the entire Game of Thrones. That lot alone is countless hours.

I can't do another one, on the back of the 25th anniversary of Shooting Stars.

So I'll just park this here instead:-

For those who still think Trump has nothing to hide, 'The Comey Rule' is a jaw dropping dramatisation of Ex FBI director James Comey's memoir 'A Higher Loyalty'.

Brendon Gleeson's portrail of Trump is stomach churning.

This smoking gun of a two part tv show will finish the Trump administration.

10/10.

I know I'm late to the party on this one but have just watched the first series of The Bridge (currently on BBC iplayer), thought it was brilliant and can't wait to get stuck into series 2.

The Bridge is amazing, stays great throughout

I've been watching "This is us" on Amazon prime and would recommend it.

Just finished the first season, I think it is great, one to watch with the other half. A bit saccharine at times but heart warming and well acted.

I've started watching:-

View attachment 127591

All the usuals:-

Murder
Corruption
Linked to DC
Small Town (extreme temperature!)
Returning vengeful sibling.

I never watched Twin Peaks as that was far too 'out there' for me in my formative yoof.
Briarpatch does seem to be enjoying a similar quirky, offbeat moody look at life.

If that's not your bag, the whole thing is produced by and staring Rosario Dawson as the kick ass vengeful sibling.

About to start this. Was it any good?

That's an interesting question!

I watched it.
I enjoyed it.
Where it was good it was excellent.

It didn't come across as being all that original.

To me it was pieced together from a dozen or so different shows, all of which I like.
Now if some else doesn't get those references they might love it.
Another viewer might say 'only a dozen!!!'.

Definitely have a good run at it, as said at the time it's a Rosario Dawson project so automatically it should get to the top of your list.
I'll certainly be interested to know if you keep with it or not.

I honestly don't know how to recommend it, another set of eyes might help me contextualize the show better.

After such a comprehensive review, I'd be mad not to give it a run.
