Yup. Can't think of any reason I'd have heard of it, except maybe due to getting the tube to Brisbane Road.
Is there any significance to that part of east london? (other than anne boleyn)

Lets be honest here, how many Albion fans could point out exactly where Barnsley, Tranmere and Middlesborough are on a map...to many they are just places somewhere up north, as the likes of Brighton, Southend and Bournemouth are just somewhere down south to your average northerner...mind you, there are plenty of Man Utd fans who couldn't tell you where Manchester is and that is where their team play!

Fair enough, to some extent, but I'm sure none would think that Barnsley is IN Leeds, or that Middlesbrough is IN Newcastle or wherever.

However, you are of course unfortunately right - the average Briton's ignorance of British geography is quite frightening.
