Anyone else finding the new platform and communicating with O2 a bit of a mare since Virgin got involved?

I was put on O2 from virgin. Virgin kept locking me out of my account by saying password was incorrect, so I welcomed the change.
O2 wouldn't even recognise I had an account! :shrug:

I had the opposite. Virgin claimed I had an account that I’d never agreed to or given payment details for that migrated to O2, who then claimed I owed two monthly payments and passed me on to a debt collection agency, despite me having phoned Virgin to tell them I didn’t have or want the account on two different occasions.

Called the debt agency as soon as I saw their letter, they cancelled the debt and I wrote a stinky official complaint to O2.

I think it’s all ok now but my credit score hasn’t yet been restored so I will be chasing them for that.

Would never use either company for anything again.

How soon is now?
My son had a SIM only deal with O2, but they put the price up from £5 am month the £15. I moved him to Lebara and moved his number via the usual PAC process, but still get bills from O2. I cancelled the O2 dd, but something hasn’t clicked in their system. I wouldn’t go with them again, there a better mobile suppliers available

We're O2 as it has the nearest mast with a strong signal.

But there shit at customer services. A couple of years ago we wanted them to transfer my son's number between his old and new phone, both O2. Six one-hour phone call later where each time (I was always polite) they promised it would be actioned, nothing happened. We gave up!

Was with Virgin and o2 before they got together, o2 bill has gone up a bit but the Virgin bill has halved.

In cases like that, I would be sitting in one of their walk-in stores having one of their sales bods sort it.
When my doris got a new phone earlier this year, switching from EE to Tesco, she sat in the Tesco phone bit whilst I minced around doing the shopping. The transfer was all sorted by the time I'd got back.

Life is too short for call centres.

I had been with Virgin since mobiles were invented, well soon after anyway. Last year they changed from piggybacking on the EE network to Vodafone. Out in the wilds of Uckfield I got zero reception on Vodafone so changed firstly to Plusnet, who then closed down so now with Lyca, who use the EE network. On monthly contracts so will move whenever prices go up.

Just left and went to Smarty. Easy to deal with this far and no hefty price increase.
Likewise. I’ve got more data for less money O2 locked me out of my account (previously Virgin), wouldn’t respond, so I went to Smarty, changed over in 48 hours, got my husband to change also, and we were both rewarded with Amazon vouchers.
I was then sent three emails from O2 telling me my DD was going up in April, but I’d thought on and cancelled it. I marked the emails as junk.

Virgin changed to O2 last August. I’d been with them since 2000.

I have a spare phone that is on giffgaff it uses O2 as the carrier, but it is £6 a month and no contract. I have as I also have a work phone which is my main phone and the company pays for the bills. On the odd occasion I just want to go out with complete freedom away from work things I take the spare phone, especially if I am out on my motorbike. All family members have it‘s number stored in their phones.

Been with O2 forever, never had any issues. Switched TV and broadband to Virgin about a year ago (to get fibre and reduce the cost which halved) - the broadband is light years ahead of the Sky (old BT line) I had and the TV boxes are excellent but trying to speak to Virgin is hopeless. The second occasion I needed to speak to them I raised a formal complaint (instead of trying ‘customer services’) - got everything sorted within 24 hours.

Biggest advantage for me for having O2 at the moment is Priority.

Got tickets to a few gigs through there that I might not have otherwise been able to and then get a shorter queue at the venue which is nice.
