sounds like a decent offer.
The cheapest is...

£15 a month - no lengthy contract
200 free mins
400 free texts

all you have to do is provide the phone as they only give you a SIM.

is there a catch?

I've just switched. You can take your number over too using pac if on a contract or if an o2 payg customer, even easier.
You get the 200 and 400 - only online - not in the shops. If you go through www.quidco.com first, you'll get £35 cash back too!
sim only as you say. no phone and o2 customer services have always been alright with me.
Carphone Warehouse will also offer you the contract but with other extras too that you might not want.

sounds a bit like the old genie contract that used to run, £10 for 600 txts and you provided the phone. Worked a treat

I've got a genie sim at the moment - 300 texts for £10 a month. Might consider switching to that though, as i'm always a bit tight making phone calls!

I'm already on O2 and intend moving to this when my contract runs out next month - primarily because I can't find a new phone I like, so don't want to start a new contract.

Same as that, unless I can find a new phone that I actually like before 1st Sep.

The genie sim is not a contract, it is a pay as you go sim card that if toped up by at least £10.00 a month they will give you 300 texts F.O.C., Therefore you still have £10.00 credit on your phone to do with what you please every month.

if you think about it, £15 a month sounds cheap, it depends how content you are with a SHITE handset, but if you get a normal contract, mine is £20 a month for 300 minutes, 750 texts, 1MB Data allowance, Insurance each month and a FREE handset, for an 18 month contract, you will struggle to beat!!

if you're satisfied with a classic Nokia 3310, then £15 a month for that is worthwhile, but i think its worth paying an extra £5-£10 a month (£60-£120/year) to get a top of the range handset with it!!

They wouldn't give out a contract that was substantially better than anything else otherwise no one would use them!!

What's Nokia 3310 got to do with anything? Most people have decent phones now.

I already have a decent handset - a Sony Ericsson W810i - which is mine next month, when my 18-month contract runs out.

I don't need to sign on a new £25-£35 contract, because I don't need a new phone (or, rather, don't fancy anything currently on the market).

But thanks for your advice.

Thats what i've got but instead i have 600 free texts a month.

Also i registered with the Talkalotmore offer where i get 150 free evening and weekend minutes if i top up £15 a month and 300 if i top up £30. Its also optional if i only put a tenner on i don't get the minutes that month, the next month if i put on £20 i will still get 150 minutes plus my texts
