Have such a hard-on about not getting hammered at City & Liverpool?

Whenever someone gets a pasting Naylor is all over it, gloating at how grateful we should be that the Albion lost by fewer goals.

It's possible that goal difference will save us or relegate us

It's far more likely that casting off the shackles, (witness the Palace game) will mean we've got so many points we don't even need to think about it.

We should look at a team like Bournemouth. They take the odd 4 niller, but score so many goals they get results home and away against good teams.

Because how many times in a season will the teams below the top 6 beat a side in the top 6? We could go into Sunday really pessimistic (you obviously won't be) that we can't get anything, but Naylor is actually being really positive that we are decent against the top sides.

Positive isn't the word I use for either of the performances v City & Liverpool.

As for 'goal difference saving the club from relegation', come on nobody actually still believes that, do they?

To be fair we put in a really good performance at L'pool ... arguably we could have had a draw

I think its because it shows how good or defense is. Measures us against the rest of the "also ran" clubs.

0 points is 0 points whatever the scoreline, but does show that we aren't actually that bad when compared to our peers.

Well considering we failed to gain promotion by the agony of goal difference to the premier league i guess it is still quite important to not get tonked every week , at the end of day its aextra point to play for . I have no idea about the hard on issue I'm afraid.

Hardly 'satisfying' examples of this season, not when there are so many other actual positive takes so far.

Bit sad having to bounce your own thread after nobody giving much of a flying one shirley?

Deffo, as sad as concentrating on 2 loses than any one of the numerous high points, this season.

He's a journalist and has column pace to fill. Can't see him writing an article about how we'll be beaten by Chelsea at home so of course he's gonna come up with something like this.

You are of course absolutely correct, we should abandon any notion of defensive play to protect our goal difference and instead should go out to lose all our games against the top 6, particularly away from by at least 7 goals.

This will have the following benefits:

Naylor would stop tweeting just to please you
This would ensure that we are always first on Match of the Day
The moaners that believe we should give it a go would be happy
The moaners who want CH out would have plenty of evidence to progress their aim
None of our defenders would be selected for their national teams, thereby staying fitter and avoiding potential injuries while on international duty
And we get a new song to sing 'We're going to win 8-7...'

Now just need to get everyone to buy into this approach

Finally a voice of reason.

They're above us. They finished above us last season.

But player for player, they aren't obviously loads better than us. Why are they above us? They're positive, they don't play for draws home or away in any game, they push teams back and teams fear them.

Yes they get stuffed sometimes, but not many bookies are tipping we'll finish above them

Do they though? Huddersfield out played them at Dean Ct unlucky not to get something, Liverpool & City smashed them we lost narrowly away at Liverpool and could of come away with a point on another day. They went on a little jolly a few games back but haven’t done much since. Also it’s only our second season in the PL not surprised of the bookies thinking.
