O/T water filters

I need to drink more water than I do and my tap water isn't the best and I don't feel like humping cases of mineral water back from the supermarket so I'm considering a water filter.

I want something free standing, not something plumbed into the system, does anyone use one of those jug thingies that they could recommend?

I used the Brita jobby for years. It did something, but I'm not sure just how much, tbh. I think it was mostly a placebo; perhaps 10% worth while.

just as an aside, I've fitted a combimate to my new places mains supply, and bugger me, it's brilliant. It keeps the "hardness" molecules in suspension, thus preventing limescale. It works!

Get one of those Bobble bottles. They're very good and you can take them out with you.

Good question, most people drink and absorb from food quite enough.

The Asda own brand filter jugs are good value and work very well, can taste difference in water
