These two would rather you didn't know that they are the same retailer trading under different names and selling pretty much the same lines. With Savers still making a healthy profit on stuff that is often a third cheaper than the price of Superslug, it makes you realise how much Superslug are ripping people off (and I'd always seen them as being a cheap option to Boots!).

Boycott Superslug and go to Savers. Here endeth the lesson.

Err, no

Budgens are owned by Musgrave, a 150+ year old retail chain from Cork, Ireland. They also own Londis in the UK (not in Ireland though); and in Ireland/Spain Supervalu; Ireland only Centra. They're privately held.

Sainsburys are J Sainsbury PLC.

Who also own Savers. Which I guess is what Surrey Jim meant.
