Peter Owen-Jones takes us into heart of the UK's newest national park - the South Downs. Following the South Downs Way along the spine of the park, from the famous Seven Sisters Cliffs to Winchester - the ancient capital of England - Peter experiences an extraordinary year exploring the park's stunning landscapes, rich history, wildlife and people. What emerges is a portrait of one of Britain's most iconic landscapes, described by William Blake as 'England's mountains green'.

Probably worth a watch

Thanks for posting that up. I caught a mention of it on Breakfast today though didn't know when it was being screened.

I'll set the TiVo.

Certainly be watching that. Walked the 100 miles three times and dazzer6666 has run it in just over 24 hours and Pembury maybe under 24 hours.
Beautiful part of the world with great history with it's hill forts and Roman settlements. Depicted perfectly in the paintings of Eric Ravillious.

Fantastically filmed. Made me think, when he lingered over birling gap, how well known that image of the seven sisters is getting worldwide. Not that it's new or anything, but you are seeing it more and more in the media.

Birling Gap is the other end of the Seven Sisters to that view.

Apparently the view of the Seven Sisters from Cuckmere is the most popular screen saver on Windows in the Far East - at Gatwick we are now getting tourists coming over just to see it. If you go down to Cuckmere Haven you will see them by the coach load.
