O/T smart Brighton venue

I'm out of touch with places in Brighton these days but I'm looking for a smart, high class, trendy hotel or restaurant that can cater for 60 - 80 guests for dinner in a private room.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation

I would say that Hotel Du Vin ticks all the boxes (Smart, trendy etc) although you'd have to check about the numbers. I used the private dining rooms there but there was about 30 of us.

The Hotel Seattle in the marina has a good size room that's pretty nice.

Yep The Seattle even though they narrowly lost our Wedding Reception to the Metropole!

I'm looking at wedding venues at this very moment and I second this. It ticks all the boxes and the staff are very helpful and flexible. First up, and regardless of private rooms, it is a great venue for dinner, drinks, outside drinks, cocktails, local real ale (via their attached pub) etc. BUT there is also a private room at the back of the Pub Du Vin (this used to be the Arts Club ball room) which has a glass domed ceiling and seats a fair few. This is in pole position for our wedding at the moment and unless (unlikely) we find anything better will be booked by the end of the month.

I'm pretty certain The Dome room, which is at the back of Pub Du Vin, can hold 60-80.

It's the former Sussex Arts Club ballroom and is now part of HDV.

And Afters should know...he's schmoozed and blagged enough "guests" into that place to practically fill that room BITD, myself included. :drink:

It's a lovely room. I love the glass dome. I'm pretty sure it will be where we hold our wedding meal.

I've just checked my literature and it holds up to 80....90 at a push.

Didnt find them helpful at all when checking out wedding venues. In fact they were a bit clueless. The most helpful was Blanche House and HDV. Most up-their-arse was Due South...which is a great shame as it is a great place for food.
