Failed to get tickets to the Roundhouse last week, or Paris. Completely dejected.

Whenever I'm on holiday and on a coach for a long journey I always set aside an hour to listen to The Bends in its entirety. It's Jonny Greenwood's album - what a guitarist that man is

2:45-4:45 of track 5 Let Down is probably my favourite two minutes of music

You know, you know where you are with
You know where you are with
Floor collapsing
Floating, bouncing back
And one day....
I am going to grow wings
A chemical reaction
Hysterical and useless
Hysterical and...

Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground
Let down and hanging around

Am I the only person who thinks Radiohead are total crap?

Just seems to be singing about pain. Well, my ears are in pain listening to his voice. Same with Muse, although atleast they have a couple of good songs.

Agree with most of the comments on here. A truly fantastic album. For me it's debatable if it's their best; I prefer the route they explored post OK Computer. I won't argue with anyone who claims it is though. But, having really really loved their stuff up to OK Computer to then hear Kid A, when they aligned themselves with the more experimental electronic stuff I adore, was truly a moment.

Going back to the question about last hearing a song in a random place: a cab in Frankfurt and the radio was playing Rush Spirit of Radio. A nice moment which took me back a few decades.

Love music, love Albion, hate politics at the moment.

Good man! I remember the first time I heard spirit of radio. Bombing down the a22, the Downs a beautiful backdrop, in my mate's Ford Escort rs2000. Lovely car, amazing music!

No - you're not !!
I opened this thread yesterday then listened to "OK Computer" on the back of it. I really can see no redeeming features. Thom Yorke's voice really grates on me. Worse than Coldplay in my opinion

Just in that kinda mood. I've put on ok computer and I've totally fell in love with it again. British music that no other islands can make. Gritty, melodic, storytelling, genius!!
Do you ever get a moment, when you put an album on that you used to love and haven't heard it for ages, then you realise why you loved it in the first place. Makes you feel alive again. It last happened to me walking into a shop in Boston USA and hearing HIS 'N' HERS by pulp. When did it last happen to you?

This is a good point. I often talk about music on my travels; foreigners have so much respects and reverence for British music. I'm often asked how do you continually churn out such great stuff; and how it's never ending. It is quite incredible when you think about it.

Ok computer is packed full of cracking songs but it never got under my skin like The Bends did. I never got over the feeling that it was somewhat over produced. The Manic Street Preachers did something similar on Everything Must Go, must have been a sonic phase that didn't sit very well with me. (and The fat of the Land, come to think of it)

Going to give it a crack loudly tomorrow though, see if i have changed my mind since my last listen.

You're right there! Although, Coldplay actually had a couple of good songs before they went terribly poppy IMO.
