My gas pressure seems to have reduced in the past few months, anyone else had this happen?
Whenever the central heating kicks in, the flame on thecooker hobs reduce or the flame on the fire in the lounge gets smaller.
The tap thing is on full under the stairs where the meter is.
Is there anyone i should contact because i thought the gas companies all use the same gas on one big grid so supposedly everyone in my street should be experiencing the same problem?
Its getting really annoyoying when cooking as something is boiling one minute and not the next

Oh sages of NSC, please help

Thanks

There is usually a valve underneath the boiler that you open for a few seconds and it increases the pressure. That's how a solved the problem on mine thanks to a bit of googling!

In reality Southern Gas Networks (Formerly Transco) are the people who should adjust the pressure into the house.

As far as i'm aware (and i'm not gas qualified myself but do have dealings with it) the pressure can be adjusted at the meter but you must not do it yourself as the appliances you use will have been set to work at the appropriate gas pressures and if you adjust the meter you adjust the pressures on all of the appliances. This can mean that some appliances are overgassed and could become dangerous.

I'm sure most CORGI engineers in the phone book could tell you the problem straight away but failing that call Southern Gas Networks

Had the same problem last year, turned out to be the pressure regulator on the meter which is the responsibility of your supplier. Southern Gas came out very quickly and fitted a new one.
