O/T computer help needed (Mac)

I'm having problems with people opening word attachments. ie I send an email and the attachment says its 40 pages long and is in gobledegook language.
I'm using a ripped version of Office for Mac which has been fine up until now and the opinion seems to be that its gone up the spout.
Any idea's before I buy a proper version. ??



(Yes, I've turned it off and on again and visa versa)

Used to happen to me before I worked out that sometimes when you use an existing document, make changes and save it, it doesn't add .doc at the end so you have to put it in. Now that was stupid - but worth checking?

Not so stupid Lush, I've done that before myself but not this time. Ta very much though.

NeoOffice can save Microsoft formats no bother. Just select when saving.

NeoOffice is a faster version of OpenOffice that doesn't need X11 - meaning it runs much faster than a drunk slug....

If its less than two years old, it *is* a PC. Just not running Windows.
