There's a lot of talk about how Afghanistan must not become a terrorist hide-out, yet the Taliban leaders were hiding in Qatar and who knows who else they're harbouring. No one's talking about Qatar for some reason......

Or Saudi Arabia, which has been funding Islamic fundamentalism for four decades now, courtesy of the money they receive from the oil we consume. Or we could talk about the other petro-chemical Middle Eastern states that also fund Islamic fundamentalism, alongside the sportswashing they engage in through their largesse via buying CL football clubs -- and the vast majority of their fans think they're marvellous.

Any thoughts that I may watch it have definitely gone away, which is a shame because Andrew Neill is too good to be on that channel and should be back on the BBC grilling politicians.
The only thing that would make me watch GB News is Kelly Brook presenting the news with her tits out.

Huge story… leaked memo shows Biden promised Boris Johnson and G7 leaders in June that the US would maintain enough of a security presence in Afghanistan that they would keep Kabul safe — then failed to keep that commitment

Bravo Joe.

Joe Bidens press conference today was up there with the very worst of Trump's. Trying to clakmthat through this absolute calamity America's standing in the international community has not been damaged, in fact 'the opposite is true'. So actually this calamity has strengthened America's hand? Breathtaking hypocrisy from the deluded fool.

China and Russia must be rubbing their hands together with glee.
No doubt these 2 countries have the upper hand in the world.
All the wealth and power of the US is a total waste as they are totally hopeless when it comes to conflict, see Cuba, Vietnam and many more, America have all the gear but no idea, the UK are powder puff and always have been Americas poodle, we go on about the special relationship they don't, America looks at us as a weak little island that will make a contribution if a scrap occurs.
France,Germany,Italy, Canada and Australia, in fact NATO, even The UN are hopeless, all talk no action.
Watch China plough zillions into Afghanistan now and strengthen their power even further.

The Muslims will kill the Chinese just the same way they have of any other group of people that have tried to influence Afghanistan. I doubt the Russians will be wasting more money on the place either.

I disagree, we will have to wait and see, I think that China will massively get involved with Afghanistan money wise.
Not Russia but Putin must be grinning like a Cheshire cat at the weakness of the west.

Why would it be different this time? The Russians tried to impose godless communist rule over the Afghans before. It ended badly.

The Taliban would look at how the Chinese are treating the Muslim Uyghur population there, basically housing them in concentration like camps and they'd not be viewing the CCP in a positive light.
