O/T. Are Liverpool FC actually mentalists?

As much as I'd like this to be true, I realy don't think it is. I doubt their global fanbase has been affected one iota.

Football is just really, really horrible. I'm not even sure why I love it.

Sadly you're probably right, I think the posts on here show not many people actually care about it as long as it was "good business"

Rodgers has already done it a few times. Players with problems off the pitch have been dealt with and turned on their full potential.

Sturridge
Coutihno
Sakho

Most notably Suarez, who after mere weeks away from the set up bit someone again:lolol:

What was Sturridge's 'problem off the pitch'? He's a committed Christian who's never been in any trouble. And i've never heard Sakho and Coutinho have any issues off the field, and i'd argue neither properly fulfilled their potential last year.

Anyway £16m for Balotelli is insanely good value compared to the amount paid for McCormack, Ulloa, Long and Suarez

To Sturridge, Coutinho and Sakho, add

Henderson
Sterling
Flanaghan
Who didn't necessarily have off-field problems, but weren't fulfilling their potential, or had distractions.

Like Martinez, Rodgers more often than not improves players. Great man-managers and coaches. Make the PL more interesting to have teams other than Chelsea and ManC with confidence.

If Rodgers and his team can't improve Balotelli and reduce his lunatic side, then he's destined to waste his career.

You're right about Sturridge. I remember Patrick Barclay and some other journalists saying he's never been any trouble at his clubs or outside of football. That there was a false impression he wasn't a team player, but it was simply spendaholics Chelsea could never find room for him as a striker.

Coutinho - also no problems, but hadn't succeeded in Italy although young, whereas Rodgers turned all that around.

Liverpool will pay Balotelli £90k a week to play for them, while Manchester United will pay Nani £120k a week to play for Sporting Lisbon.

Balotelli is a bit nuts, but not like Suarez. Also Mancini was a renowned awful people manager

Balotelli is a nasty, cynical player so history suggests he may fit in well at Liverpool.

I think they deserve each other.
''Can you nick tyres off cars''?
''Si''
''The job's yours Italian Mario''
Blimey, it's like having an American president called Barak O'Bama.
Whatever next.

Like the Evertonians who called sports radio stations tonight claiming they weren't bitter about this latest signing by their rivals, but proceeded to rant about Balotelli, LFC signing him, their hopes that he's not a success back in England, blah, blah.

Probably working!
He didn't do a lot wrong in the World Cup. He's growing up a little, and you can't help but enjoy him now.

I refuse to believe that Balotelli is on only £90k a week (I can't believe I wrote that).

It is reported on SSN that he has asked for £90k AFTER TAX, so actually £180k PER WEEK!
Does that make you feel any better?

Daniel Sturridge has had a similar reputation, but has been fine since he's been given a long run in the team and has peformed well. Could be a good partnership.
