The same Hoskins who spent 3 seasons at Watford in the Prem (albeit briefly and the CHAMPIONSHIP) with a stunning return of 7 goals from 60 appearances?

I don't play with the chavs in Croydon pal, I'm a Sussex boy :afro:

And Glenn Murray has scored how many in his 27 years?

Players develop and change depending on age, coaching and I am sure personal circumstances. Adam El-Abd was shit until Gus got hold of him he is now a very good centre half. Hoksins and Murray will score a very similar amount of goals.

Murray and the caravanners deserve each other, yes he was good for us when he wanted to be but has shown his true class now. Bench warmer by Christmas and first transfer request by this time next year, he will not settle at palarse of this I am sure. Our loss? Possibly. Agent Murray following in the footsteps of agent Davids and agent Burley? More than likely.

I think its fair to say Hoskins is a greatly improved player now than he was as a 20 year old for Watford in the Prem !
And i would guess many of those appearances came of the bench

Yepp, I'm sure Gus will get the best out of him, just like Dougie will get the best out of Muzza, and Hoskins could turn out to be a decent signing. It'll certainly be interesting to compare the two during the season......

Also, i think it goes to show just by some hatred replies about him how much and highly you regarded him as a player!

I think deep down your gutted you have lost your top goalscorer and to top it off, to your bitter rivals.

He was a good player for us, But to lose Bennett, Calderon or Greer would be far more devastating. We've already signed Hoskins & Gus is planning on bringing in a couple more strikers so meh about losing him.

As for him joining your lot. It would bother me if he came out & said he was going to you for the career opportunities but he's not. He put himself out there to the highest bidder and you won. Could've as easily been one of the other half a dozen teams he was linked with.

Whilst some of the supporters feel like that, thankfully Gus doesn't...

You can have Murray along with his tantrums and sulks - Barnes is a far better prospect and his goals to game ratio last season was better.

Murray is on the wrong side of his 20's and will struggle in the Championship without a player like Elliott Bennett feeding him which funny enough, you don't have!

Good luck next season...You'll need all the help you can get when you go back into admin for the third time after your caravan park gets sold for redevelopment and you have to play your home matches at Gillingham :D

Murray's already peaked with 22 goals this season. Gus is a far better manager than Dougie as his track record will show come may next year.

At least we will know where to come for directions.

I'm disappointed he's gone and yes to Palace at that. However on the plus side I don't see Palace as being as much of a threat as say Millwall or SCC for that matter. I am in no doubt that had Gus wanted him to stay badly enough he would be here but clearly Gus doesn't see him as a prospect for the future so good luck to the bloke. His biggest problem at Palace will being paid in full. I just hope that not too much of his pay is based on win bonuses.

I think Gus is a top notch manager, the problem is, the quicker you march forward and demolish all those that stand before you in the Championship (that's the vibe i get) the quicker he'll be departing.....

i'm not sure hoskins is murray's replacement, because i can feel in my WATERS that gus has got a trick the size of RUSSIA up his sleeve waiting to be unLEASHED

The Championship.
I see some of the hottest Palace fans are happy about the signing.

If I'm honest, I will be pissed off if, on August 6th, it appears we have simply swapped Murray for Hoskins because personally I rate Murray far higher. But we've been here before. Some of our fans screamed for signings all last summer, then Gus pulled a couple of rabbits out of the hat - not necessarily the signings we expected, but who proved *very* astute indeed.

So enjoy the gloating while you can, because it won't last. I have a sneaky feeling that Poyet will bring in some top class players (on affordable wages) and we will be just fine. As for you, I'm not going to say Murray won't play well - I think he'll do OK for you, but I'm hoping that Freedman has pissed a good chunk of his budget up the wall and your defence will be f***ing toilet all season with no money to sort the problem out. Or perhaps that Murray's wages are OTT and that causes problems within your squad. I'm certainly not convinced that signing a player who has had ONE good season in division 3 is going to solve your probelms.
