Does anyone have reccomendations for using more than one Twitter account? Basically I want to use 2 Twitter accounts, and wondered if anyone has used any of the desktop apps for runnning multiple Twitter accounts. I've tried a couple Tweetdeck, which kept coming up with a blank screen, and Janetter which seems flawed also.

I follow quite a few blogs where they have more than one twitter account and all seem to use TweetDeck or HootSuite. I tried TweetDeck for my single account and binned it within 5 minutes but I've also seen a lot of complaints about HootSuite. To my knowledge no-one's found anything better than these 2 though but I'm willing to be contradicted.

On the subject of Twitter, THIS is an example of what I hate about it. Tweeted this morning:

A million thanks to my three beautiful future step children for being so welcoming, inclusive and charming to me and my son.
Retweeted by Shane Warne

So...she can't just thank them herself (it has to go out to millions), and if that wasn't enough Shaney-boy has to retweet this presumably sensitive issue between him and his ex worldwide. Absurd.

Why not use two different browsers? Use Firefox for one Twitter account and Chrome for the other? Very simple solution.

I thought that as there are numerous multiple account programs available it would be easier to be able to see them all in one go, rather than having 2 browsers on the go all the time.

You don't need anything fancy, just register your new account with a different email. Then within twitter is a 'switch account' button.

Must be on mobile devices only, not on web browser

On the website i think you have to log out then back in with your other email. It's easier on the phone than website. There is what looks like a head and shoulders silhouette. It's under that.

I think the problem here is that you are still following Shane Warne. His twitter output is constant drivel.

I use 'moTweets' which can run two accounts but theres no way to merge both the feeds. However, its very quick to flick between them..

I have two twitter accounts, on my phone there is a simple 'Switch accounts' button at the bottom of the screen when you press the 'Me' tab. On the computer I've just become quick at logging out and in again from lots of practice!

The native Twitter app for Mac permits multiple accounts and quick switching. I rarely have to touch the website itself.

I didn't think of using that, I haven't used app store on mine, what OSX do I need to upgrade to to get that? I haven't upgraded since before the last paid for upgrade.

I use a 'social' browser called Rockmelt, though it does require you to have a Facebook login in order to use. It allows you to add 'apps' to the side of the browser window which in my case includes my various twitter accounts (company, personal, etc), as well as apps that linke to sites like BBC News. A bit like RSS, everytime there is a new tweet/article/etc for each app it tells you about it so you can keep on top of things. Bit of a timewaster if you're not careful though!

Oh, and the other useful thing is that you can install it on numerous machines/phones etc and as long as you use the same Facebook account to log in it generally remembers where you were in read twitter/article lists. I.e. if you have 10 unread twitter messages in one version, you should have 10 on another device (if that makes sense).
