I've had a pair of selvedge 501's, not so nice, just bought a new pair of classic straight cut 501, dark blue, button fly. spot on.

Levis vary wildly I've found, depending where they're made . . .the yanks like a high waist.

Don't care for the brand, more the fit style. I prefer Loose Fit but they are so hard to find nowadays

Try Next online. I think they still do loose fit and their jeans last well. No point looking in store though as they only seem to keep the very slim fit stuff.

I've also found Wrangler a better brand than most others. Levi's never seem to fit me properly.

Being a Gentleman of smaller stature, I too have previously found that Wranglers do, indeed fit me better than Levi’s.

However, having said that, I haven’t worn a pair of jeans for about 20 years as I don’t believe men over 40 should wear them.

The same goes for training shoes, unless wearing them for sport.

Clarkson is a complete scruff, he looks like he’s not bothered about his appearance, many blokes over 4O that know how to dress don’t look like he does in jeans.

My favourite pair of jeans are Levis. It was one of those occassions when I tried them on and they were just the perfect fit I was after. 512 is the model I think.

I keep meaning to buy another pair in a different shade/colour.
