Nut roast from Sainsburys with port and cranberry sauce and f/ing disgusting it was too. First year we've binned the bird in favour of the vegetarian option.

first year ever xmas dinner on our own in the Beorhthelm house, so it was a simple roast chicken with tray of pig in blankets. came out very nice too, frankly not really looking forward to mum's massive turkey dinner tomorrow.

Home-made veggie pie: one layer of mushroom and chestnuts, one layer of spinach and cheese and a layer of roasted pepper and tomato. Yummy it was too

Goose and ham. First time I've done goose. It's just gone in the oven. Fingers crossed.

GOOSE. Done this way it's a winner. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8764/classic-roast-goose-with-cider-gravy

Kids made the pigs in blankets, I steamed carrots and sprouts and did some slow cooked red cabbage. And I roasted some MAYAN GOLDS (@Notters and others take note). Bloody fantastic.

A tip though. If you can live without the goose liver then Wickenden Meats in Hangleton offer a massive price advantage. £25 for our goose from there this year. Same thing but with liver in the giblets was £55 from Canhams last year. Small portions of home cooked foie are NOT worth £30.
