I was about to put one up, but found the thread. This was the format I had designed:
32 entrants, drawn in to eight groups of four:
2 points for correct score
1 point for a correct score direction
In the event of a tie for any position, the position will be decided by firstly:
1) Amount of correct scores.
2) Amount of correct score directions.
3) Aggregate amount of goals compared to the full total of the 48 matches.
In the knockout rounds, half time scores, and time of first goal come in to play. The format would be decided on:
1) Correct score
2) Correct score direction
3) Half time score
4) Time of first goal
The format brings a slight lottery element to the contest, but then again, so does the main tournament itself.
A separate table will be produced with all the entrants in a league format-so even if you are knocked out you can continue to send in scores for the final table to see how you fared.
Scores can be changed at any time up to a game in any stage as long as a message is received before the game.
