Whilst I can only apologise profusely for the demise on this once great establishment that has happened under my watch, I'm all ears...

I'll consider anything, other than...

- Make it more aligned with your political views. I am repeatedly told NSC is too left-wing. I am repeatedly told NSC is too right-wing. I suspect that some folk are very sensitive to views that differ from their own - possibly a symptom of the main social media platforms creating one-sided echo chambers.

- Get rid of user X. You may think that Bozza is a complete and utter ****, but this isn't the place to stay. There's no need to name names.

So, how would YOU make NSC better?
Nothing. It's great.

Aside from all the Albion content, I lave learned a great deal about all sorts, from people I'd probably* have avoided in 'real life'.

Huge numbers of really decent thoughtful funny serious people? What's not to love? ???

And a big thanks to you and your posse

They were though, weren’t they?

😉
Yes they were right. When I look back I do not remember a rainy day in any of the school holidays. I grew up in Seaford and roamed the fields down to the Cuckmere river to fish for eels or went down to the beach to jump off the sea wall at high tide. It never rained. Funny that.

It is far too left wing…… but then isn’t that what ‘ignore thread’ is for?

I like it, admittedly less than I did, but am on it every day, even if it is just to read.

There are posters I respect and always happy to debate with, there are others that are pillocks…… but then there is an also ‘ignore option’ for them as well.

In summary, I like NSC, @Bozza and the Mods do a great job IMO….

I’d like to actually meet a few of the people, and it’s quite possibly I’ve sat with them at away games…..

I wouldn’t know where to start in terms of improvement, but basically “thank you”.

The fact that you can do anything in 5 minutes is most reassuring . . . . last year with NSC advice, garnered from numerous threads I renovated a Grade 1 listed thatched central heating system in under an hour.

The OP seems to have two issues.

1) NSC is too left-wing.
Steer clear of the political threads, if they make you unhappy. Surely it's that simple? There's plenty going on NSC that has nothing to do with politics. I dip into the Trump thread now and again just for the LOLs, but otherwise don't bother with the discussions that are political.

2) NSC is 'county league' standard when everything else about BHAFC is Premier League.
Not sure entirely what this means, but personally I don't want some corporate polished site that's commercially produced and run. NSC has been around for longer than the club's been in the PL – it goes back to our days stuck at the very bottom of the entire football league – and it'll still be around if we one day end up heading back there. It's not a fit-for-PL-only thing, and I'm not sure we want to ditch it for something that 'is'. It's kind of like the difference between an official programme and a fanzine, and NSC is very much the latter. (Or 'watching the match-build up on Sky' vs 'meeting mates in the pub before kick-off', if the fanzine analogy is redundant in today's digital world).
Is @Bozza not simply reporting complaints he has heard? I don't imagine those are his views at all.

I'd like a personalised & automated sobriety feature, as an opt in. For myself, I'd like it so that if I've made a lot more typo's than usual & have gone back & re-written stuff more times than usual & it's after 10pm, then I should be made to re-enter my password 4 times at a certain speed. It should quickly tell me my password 1st though to make it fair. If I can't do it then it gets turned into read only until the morning. That is what AI should be used for!!! ;)

I love this site, it is intimidating for a new user but most people lurk before they post & know what they're getting into, well I did anyway. I'm not a fan of this 'mods shouldn't say that' thing that's going on atm. If you don't like someones views on a political thread, disagree & than accept that someone has got a different viewpoint, you can argue against it but don't use them being a 'mod' as a way to say they shouldn't have that viewpoint.

I'm giving a thumbs down to word limit, as I got an A+ in all my essays for waffle, F for content. A daily post limit would mess up things like Wordle comps that @SeagullsoverLondon puts a lot of effort into (hint, hint). 😁
@Cotton Socks see my post this morning on Wordle thread (which 90% of users have on ignore) for exciting new competition.

As to the question in hand:
I think leave things well alone. Trying to impose word limits or number of posts per thread would have unintended consequences.
After all, the right wing posters can't argue with @Bozza taking a laissez-faire approach!

I quite like the idea of limiting posts per user per day, but I don't think that would work well for official match threads.

Personally, I don't have any issues. I spend most of my time reading it rather than posting. I don't feel the need to repeat what others have said - I just give them a "like".

The "ignore" feature works well for most threads and most users.

Happy with it as it is. Thank you Bozza.

You could have written a doctoral thesis and won the Nobel Prize if you'd traded all the hours wasted on here for something more productive, H. #Just sayin' like. #Bad Times

There is not a lot wrong with NSC its always like this during closed season and its different from years gone by when we were marching actioning great ideas raising the club’s profile across the nation, the club had no money and NSC was the place to discuss everything no limits no real rules.
The world has changed and NSC needed to evolve with it but it’s still the best football fans forum, the season starts in a couple of days and once the the window shuts and we all know what’s what all will be blue and white, until November and the USA election.

Two doctoral theses in one lifetime is a bit greedy though, don't you think?

(Good point. Something something something Frank Sinatra, however.

Or was it Sid Vicious?)

Way out West
Someone earlier highlighted that NSC can serve as an antidote to the "echo chamber" that Twitter and Facebook become. I frequently strongly disagree with various posters, and a few can really annoy me. But life (and NSC) would be bloody boring if we all agreed with each other. Tbh it's even a shame we don't get a few more Palace fans on here from time to time. It's even good to have our Swedish friend back again :)

So, imho, leave NSC alone - it's bloody brilliant as it is.

West is BEST
I’ve been on here some time now. NSC is a far nicer place to be these days. Especially since most of the far right wallys like Das Reich are now gone.

I don’t think we have more than a handful of very right wing / “far right” members?

And the internet is full of sites with fake memes about black foreigners being housed in palaces while Brits fight for scraps on the streets. Why come looking for it here? You’ll be sadly disappointed. It’s never been that type of place.

I have many political views aligned more with the right than the left and I’ve never been made to feel unwelcome.

However, being a premium member I can get whomever I wish banned by playing my BAN HIM card. We only get one a month but I’m slowly knocking this place into shape.

You come across as mad about the Albion. Not into wall to wall party politics for months on end during the closed season :lolol: . Perhaps NSC will improve for you once Hurzeler delivers?

😂😂😂
It’s already improved, as every time I see Labour, Tory or anything like that, it hits ignore.
I just feel people aren’t very nice to each other at times, a bit snipey…….
Just assume best intentions 😃😃

Still hoping we can catch up.

Reinvigorated after the long closed season (I love them) and our wave of signings, I’m really looking forward to Amex visits.

Yep, nsc pile-ons to a dissenting opinion with a few making it personal aren’t the best thing. Mental health and all that. I found it best not to get involved in online rows in the early hours when getting grumpy!
