The improvement's already been done! NSC might not be left or right, but there is no doubt that a large majority of regular users veer strongly to the left politically and socially very liberal, with the result that some threads can became echo chambers, where any opinions veering slightly too near the centre are met with opprobrium (and, it's fair to say, with a degree of intolerance). See, for instance, topics like... err ... Brexit, for example.

Now, praise be the lord, we have an ignore thread button! All hail!

What’s Mustafa on about? A mod not being professional! I should hope not ffs, it’s a fans forum. I don’t actually use the ignore function as I am completely capable of ignoring topics and people I don’t like. Somehow I think ignoring people may make them think they are significant but don’t really give a rat’s arse what they think.

I don’t have Twitter anymore or Facebook, tik tok, telegram etc. All I have really is NSC and no that isn’t really sad! I am grateful when people on here post from Twitter etc so I don’t have to look!

I live in Spain (no shit sherlock) and have thunderstorms just now. My satellite signal disappears and the internet will probably go down soon, which is why I have the time to read this post!

NSC reminds me of my local pub before I left England 20 years ago. There were loud characters, quiet characters, shit stirrers (I was one) all sorts. It was a great pub. Maybe that’s just nostalgia.

@Bozza I'd imagine there's a site option that allows you to flag up old threads being bounced. Sometimes a poster needs their wits about them to realise that they're about to engage in a thread from, say, 2013 that some wag has decided to bounce, just because they can
Agree - a function that did this would be very useful. Perhaps automatically adding (BOUNCED) to the thread title of any thread that gets revived after being dormant for more than, say, 12 months.

Get rid of all the football threads, they bore the tits off me.

On a serious note, more robust policing of threads that get personal (seems to crop up a bit on politics threads where some people play the man not the ball).

I totally agree with this, theres some great discussions on here and threads that have really helped me and other people. I certainly wouldn't want to lose that, however I think the rule of thumb is the same as in everyday life, if you want to maintain a certain sense of harmony within a group its best to stay away from Politics and Religion!
I dip my toe into the politics threads very occasionally and then @Harry Wilson's tackle (lefty pinko ) rocks up and and gives me a broadside every f***ing time, so I slink back off again

I know this is a really big bugbear of yours, but I understand why people - including myself - do this.

Say someone wanted to comment on, I don’t know, Kylie Minogue’s new record on the hit parade. They could make a new thread, or use the search tool to bring up a previous Kylie thread.

The benefit of this is that is provides very often an interesting time capsule of how opinions have changed over the months/years. Reading back through and seeing public opinion sour or sweeten on a subject is really interesting.

Besides, if you click the last page you will only see the most recent posts. If you’re really that bothered, start from there and work back.

The only reason I can imagine people don’t like old threads being bounced is if they’re maybe a little embarrassed about what they might have posted in the past, and don’t want old shame being brought back to the fore.

To this I say, don’t post shite in the first place
What if you’re pissed when you post? It’s likely to be shit but I love threads started by pissed posters - The bounced Digweeds Trousers one being up there with the best.

I'd also dispute that its politics aren't aligned with the average Albion supporter. We're a city with two Labour and one Green MP, I'd agree that left of centre views are probably slightly more popular on NSC but I'd say that's pretty representative of the fan-base. But it's also fairly moderated and there's no suggestion that right wing views are being silenced.

I'm not sure why we're not Premier League standard. I haven't seen a league table of football fans forums for some time, but last I looked NSC was pretty near the top.

I think it's pretty good TBH. We cover a wide range of subjects, we don't ban away supporters - in fact, encourage them and there are lively posts. It's also a great information source: if I wanted to find a butcher in Blubberhouses or the best plum brandy I could buy in Uzbekistan, there's probably someone on NSC who knows.
You say that, but I was banned for apparent abuse and trolling, it was also highlighted in the moderators decisions.

Yet I had some very vile things said to me because they didn't like me and as CJD said the Watford guy amongst another handful of left wing multi posters surrounding me with placards in my face.

I have had two moderators question my dyslexia and ADHD, and fuel others off the back of it, using there position to do so. This type of person shouldn't be able to comment in such a way, some of these guys idol drool on there every word though.

I would say to make things better would be to have a responsible fair moderators run the show in Bozza difficult times, not the head strong left boys on a mission to seek and destroy.

If you need to ban a mod because they over step the mark so be it. Friend or not there are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed and they have let you down on occasions.

I could quote the posts but I won't.

I was warned from a poster via pm when I joined don't take on that inner circle of posters or they will ban you, "you won't win". The thing is am not trying to win anything, just giving my point of view the best I can with my limited writing skills.

Personally I'd like to see a dictate button and an immersive style of read button to listen and read out.

This maybe totally impossible I really don't know, but you asked!

I would think nsc needs to follow the FA in Respect, respect, respect (Respect button) it may even catch on in life!

I try not to post when sober.

I have set standards over the years which are tough to maintain, but we all suffer for the cause one way or another.

I've only just got in from work, but managed to neck a cold one just to post this. . .

It's like the continued tolerance of the trolling by Dougie in that complaints against a particular moderator are certain to be ignored.

Whilst I can only apologise profusely for the demise on this once great establishment that has happened under my watch, I'm all ears...

I'll consider anything, other than...

- Make it more aligned with your political views. I am repeatedly told NSC is too left-wing. I am repeatedly told NSC is too right-wing. I suspect that some folk are very sensitive to views that differ from their own - possibly a symptom of the main social media platforms creating one-sided echo chambers.

- Get rid of user X. You may think that Bozza is a complete and utter ****, but this isn't the place to stay. There's no need to name names.

So, how would YOU make NSC better?

Is NSC as good as it was when you were on here previously do you think - or has it gone downhill.
