Someone will be along to say that Fish puns contribute to over fishing in already under populated waters which in turn leads to the increased use of netting which in turn kills Dolphins.

Are you happy you kill Dolphins? Are you?

You should be ashamed of yourself using fish puns. Shame on you.
Yes, f*** em. Toothy, squeaky pricks. I always thought Flipper was a ****.

Firstly, I love this forum.

To answer the thread's question - I would like to see bad language removed. I am on other forums where this rule applies and I don't think they are any weaker or less engaging or less funny as a result. Even asterisking out letters of offending words like newspapers do would be a good move. And yes, I know what the next couple of posts are going to be in response to this ;)

I know we're all adults on here, but I would like to be able to give my teenage children free access to the (often very perceptive) discussions on football and life in general, but I'm not comfortable in doing that.

I know I may be in the minority with this view, but you did ask.....
Have a look at some of the other football forums - the language on them is far worse. I think the filtering is just about right on here - and posters do seem to moderate themselves because of it.

You probably know this but they’re not as hot now after that very nasty accident and lawsuit.
Don't put facts in the way of comedy ???

the fact that you have asked what has it become and how can it be better

speaks volumes 😉

You have just reminded me of those glorious days when I lurked not just in here but on the wonderful "Bottom of the Barrel" forum which gave the opportunity for relaxed discussion with fans of other fallen giants such as Hartlepool (obsessed with slagging off "Darloid Scum") and Mansfield who hated Cheaterfi£ld more than we did. And whatever happened to "Buono" our bete noire at Leyton Orient?
He's staying at the YMCA, where its is, apparently raining men.

I ignore all politics on here - I know what everyone on here thinks - and to be honest don't read this forum for politics - it all gets very repetitive and same old folk having same old arguments - whatever their views - they are all convinced they are never wrong

I read if for random strange things and all Albion related news

Though endless debates by same folk on past managers is pretty tiresome too - its much the same as above comments - same old folk with same old views who are all never wrong

Yes- and then there are the odd ones where it appears f and c words are automatically switched to random replacements. Created some strange effects . Just as well they have it on the Celtic forum I went on to find out about Matt O'Reilly.

I'd agree with that completely. It may have something to do with my observation above. The perma-present posters aren't humorous in any way and the saturation spamming of most if not all threads kind of kills the mood
This is the problem with allowing any subject on the big board. Some of them just aren’t funny. There’s nothing amusing at all about what’s happening in Israel and, as a result, that thread is simply full on ingrained opinions from a tiny number of posters.

Sometimes things take a funny twist. I know my own post count on the riot thread was high. On the one hand, the far right trying to burn mosques and hotels genuinely appalled me. On the other, there’s absolutely nothing funnier than a pissed bloke in a tracksuit getting hit in the nuts by a brick. I was there for both and so were others.

Which is as good a time as any to say that, yes, mods have opinions too and they carry no more weight than anyone else’s. When I post 99% of the time I post as me and no one should think it’s a) more important or b) editorial.

Literally the only time we edit is if a post is legally difficult, grossly offensive or if we are asked

You cannot edit NSC to one position or another, the content is yours and I know Boz would much rather you stayed and your opinion was challenged (I mean any member here, not just you afters) instead of banning.

And, yes, some dick jokes and poo threads would be good.

An application that allows you to know how close you are to a fellow Northstander in the real world. What their interests are, what they’re looking for etc. Something like that.
Oh and more adverts please.
