Tex would be an interesting one. Not an out and out winger, but playing off the striker away from home and we are incredibly solid. Just think we need more of a Bennett/Buckley. March and Lua Lua will be injured, no question. Need players to replace them who can cross. Not sure Tex fits the bill.

That tweet did mention another winger and a 'number 10', perhaps Tex fills that role? Would certainly fit into a 5 man midfield away from home playing off of either Hemed or Bobby and could be brought on at home if we're chasing a game.

Carayol, if fit and willing, would be a very useful addition.

I wonder what Jack Harper would make of us signing Teixiera? Cant see them both fitting into the team at same time.

Two players for each position is usually a nice balance over the course of a 50 match season, particularly if one of them is more established than the other.

I think Harper's preferred position is as a number 10. I've always seen Tex as an attacking midfielder but I'm sure he could play right if left midfield doing a similar role to Orlandi whom I believe is the same type of player. If there is any truth in this, the permanent signing of Tex would trump every other signing so far in terms of the long term future of the club. I don't believe it though.

Harper and Hambo are injured, Crofts and Zamora aren't fully fit, March and LuaLua don't have the greatest injury records and we've picked up six yellow cards already this season.

Exactly this. It's a squad game, innit. Having this kind of strength in depth is vital if we want to do well.

Carayol and Tex would bring huge options to the team. Get them in! With Carayol, I would take him on loan for the season with an option to buy - we also have several in the DS that will hopefully push on and challenge for places soon.

The one player in our squad now that I cannot see fitting in is JFC.

Tex would be an interesting signing and one I would love to happen. From what I read he had a good pre season for Liverpool but was not in the match day squad. With coutinho, the other Brazilian guy, and lallana he won t get a lot of game time. Would give us the option of having a genuine AM who knows how to play just behind a striker and if him and Harper match their obvious potential we would have 2 very good players on our hands

Signing Tex would be a wonderful move by the club, which should catapult us into the reckoning for a top six finish but I don't think we'll get much change out of £2M.
