NSC Summer 6's 2010

I am not doing it this year. I want a RELAXING summer, which only gets spoiled by England in the World Cup. I dont have the time or energy to put up with a load of binfests after REMF 9. Anyway, the tournament I organised was a SHAMBLES last year!

Not living in Brighton, my involvement in organising is limited. But, I am very willing to provide any help to the person who does end up organising it.

Far from a shambles Brett, apart from the council fecking up the pitches. You and Simon (Hans Kraay) (and everyone that helped) have done a fine job in the last few years. I hope its not the last time and the Crocs are not allowed to keep their crown longer than a year.

Agreed.

Apart from the last bit.

I'm madly busy at work for the next month or so, so probably wouldn't be a lot of use organisationally, but my team would definitely be back for another go, trying to improve on last year's effort (Played 4, Lost 4, Scored 0, Conceded 17).

Very well said.

I'll sort it out.

Actually no, my life's a f*** up, so this would just be a shambles on my behalf!

i would be interested in putting a team in this year. I quite fancy being player manager for the day as opposed to just player

If this does happen, I could probably enter a team again (depending on when it is).

If no one else comes forward I guess I could have a stab at organising something. As metioned I am not Brighton based but I guess I could do a lot of it via phone and email etc. Would be better to have someone from Brighton doing it if possible.

I'm sure I'll come in for a bit of stick, and I don't mean too. Honest! I've just never organised anything like this before. But surely there's not THAT much organising, is there? Perhaps Brett can explain what he's had to do in the past?

Not sure any pitches actually need booking. Seemed a bit pointless last time?
Nothing stopping a (fairly large) group of "mates" having a kick about down the park, is there?

I imagine just getting the teams, and collecting the money takes most the time?

- Organising teams
- Collection of money
- Purchasing of trophies, etc. (not sure we need a raffle?)
- Getting goals, balls, cones

Anything else?

Organising fixtures, programme, photographer, referee schedules, helpers to ensure all the games kick off on time.

"Last time" the council f***ed up the pitch for us. It should have been marked out. Fortunately, nobody kicked up a fuss and Brett/helpers did bloody well to get 2 pitches sorted with cones.

edit: the raffle is a big fundraiser. That's the priority remember - raising money for charity.
