I'll make up the numbers if a team is short. Alternatively, all of "us" that aren't part of a team could become one - presuming there is a space in the competition to accomodate us

That's not a bad idea. I Would be up for playing in this and hope there are vacancies.

The problem with that is that the 10 team (two groups of 5, each team plays the other 4 in their group once, top two from each group go to the semi finals) tournament format that we've used for the last two years takes all day, a 20 team competition would be simply impossible from a time perspective.

Depends how many pitches you have doesn't it. If you have double the teams and double the pitches it will only be one game longer and won't be any more hassle as you just use the same schedule for the other second group as the first

Seriously, I have SO much going on, that I can't even be thinking about it just yet.

If someone else wants to take it on earlier though, I'd be very happy to assist.

If I do it, it will only be two groups.. We COULD go to 6 in a group, but that could only be accomodated if the games are a bit shorter, as you'd have 15 games in each group intead of 10. Each team would get one more group game, but there would be more waiting around. The current format takes from 11am to 6pm as it is.

If you have 4 pitches, you'd have 4 extra games [q-finals], unless only the winners went through, which would be rubbish. You'd also need to find 4 more goals to borrrow. DASH Fc have kindly leant us 4 for the previous years. The council do not supply them.





Anyway all, feel free NOT to bombard me with suggestions. I will do it if I can, but nothing is going to happen for a few weeks. [Unless somebody else is keen to get cracking].
